Coleman Elementary School

Kindergarten-6th grade public elementary school Opened in 1954, Coleman School is named after Vincent Coleman, then the immediate past president of the U-46 School Board.

The school opened with 300 students. Today, over 575 students attend Coleman, which has since added a gym, library, computer lab, special education classes, and a Dual Language program.

NOTICE: There will be a mobile COVID-19 testing site in Elgin this Saturday, November 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Elgin Township Government Building, located at 729 S. McLean Boulevard.

Food Bank pop up this weekend!

ECC will host a 🍊 🥗 pop-up market🍞 🍅 from Northern Illinois Food Bank this Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Utilizing a no-contact method, community members can drive up, pop their truck, and receive food. No registration or ID needed.

Don't forget to complete today the questionnaire about your plans for your U-46 student for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year.

Our Story

Opened in 1954, Coleman School is named after Vincent Coleman, then the immediate past president of the U-46 School Board. The school opened with 300 students. Coleman School has undergone several additions: 1966, 1998 and again in 2016. Today, nearly 700 students attend Coleman, which now includes a gym, library, computer lab, special education classes, music and art rooms, and a Dual Language program. But Coleman continues to be in the center of it’s boundaries, as well as the center of activities for its families and community.
