The St. Edward Central Catholic High School Debate Team began in the fall of 2011. The inaugural year was quite successful with a rookie 8 member team.
We are looking to build the program and already have grown to a 14 member team.

Congratulations to the St. Edward Mock Trial team:defense attorney's Chris and Clare, defendant Christian, defense witnesses Eric and Elizabeth, and jurors Joe, Catherine, Jonny, Austin, Sean and DeMarco. Proud to say that justice has been served and our defendant was found not guilty on both charges!!
Another first for St. Edward Debate as Austin breaks into the octa-final round at IHSA State and finishes in the top 16 out of 50 teams. Overall, the team had a record of 18-12. Next up, CCFL Nationals in Chicago May 24-26.

Based on a nationwide vote, the March 2014 Public Forum topic is, Resolved: Single-gender classrooms would improve the quality of education in American public schools.
A total of 402 schools and 281 students voted for the resolution. The winning resolution received 58% of the school vote and 50% percent of the student vote.
