For that person and whomever agreed with her in accusing me of being a dictator here it goes.

We are NOT a "Non-profit" committee. All the money that was raised these past six years was for the benefit of the Class of 75, and all the other classes that joined us, to enjoy our reunion. We did fund raisers, in-house raffles, and money from the sales of tickets for the reunion which were bought with YOUR money. Once YOUR money left your hands it became committee money designated for the reunion. Although, these past years the Class of 75 Committee, along with other classes, the Class of 75 was able to help the Bowie Alumni Association with a little over $500 for the purchase of three laptops for the Bowie Students. This year we were also able to donate $100 for the purchase of the tunnel for the Bowie Students football team.

The money from this fund along with the money that came in from the sale of reunion tickets, although three books were lost, was used for the sole purpose of all that was enjoyed at the reunion. This included the rental of the hall, which was paid in full before the pandemic hit us, the deposit on the catering, the band deposit (the Vice President had the $700 balance for Mr George Jacquez, owner of the band), table decorations, the gifts for the Class of 75, the cake, the Bowie banner, the balloon garland, the tea, the beer, the ice, along with about thirty-five to forty gifts that were bought for the raffle including the TV itself which was over $500 due to the tax, with the exception of three gifts that were donations. The Vice President did not want to turn in the $400 from her ticket sales until the day of the event and that money was used for the four $100 cash prizes that were given out that day. Whatever cash was left over from paying the balance to the caterers, paying the One Party Shop for the ballon garland, and buying the beer, tea, and ice on that same day, along with a couple of tickets that were sold at the event, was given to Grace Gonzalez Watson, President of the Bowie Alumni, along with the $1,500 cashier's check. This donation was unanimously agreed upon at one of the meetings, to give Grace G. Watson, the President of The Bowie Alumni the money that was left over. So if you were not at that meeting you have no say so on the decision that was made, if you were there than you know the decision was unanimous. I didn't do this to spite anyone with THEIR money and even if I had, this is money that is going to Bowie students. Are we not always saying that we have to help our school and the students?

As I said at the dance I did this alone because I couldn't trust that one person that was left in the committee after she tried to oust Pat Rangel Montes (RIP) and myself from the Committee. Mary Araiza Leyva if you feel I embarrassed Lucy by doing this, think how we felt when our own classmates, in front of other classmates, tried to ousts us for lies that were concocted by this person. That situation alone helped me with the decision to step down as President after this project was over. I left this office with the same balance that I received it when I was elected president, which was a zero balance.

I'm thankful for my friends and family for helping me out through all of this, especially that day.

So Mary Araiza Leyva and everyone that agreed with you, if you feel that I was a dictator and the A?? of 75, for doing this with the money that was left over, which is for the Bowie students, well than THANK YOU. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Graciela Sanchez
Former President
