Interesting raincoat selection there. Yesterday morning, so must be a staff member. :-)
Through Amazon Smile, the Mt Norris Alumni Assn (MNSRAA) received another $40 this quarter. If you use Amazon, please consider naming the MT Norris Alumni Association, Inc as your selected charity. It doesn't cost anything, and our camp will benefit. 1% of the value of what you purchase is donated each time you make a purchase.
Thanks Mt.Norris for a fun weekend at Winter Trek 2020
I found this while cleaning out the closet today...
I will be attending the Mt. Norris Alumni Camporee that is coming up. I also have some 1960's 8mm film footage that I will be bringing. If anyone has some film clips from that time I can convert these digitally and bring them to share with other campers. Just message me through FB.
One of the better shots I got last week!
Summer Construction Season is upon us. If you're heading up to Mt Norris from the Chittenden County area (and points south where you pass through Chittenden County), Route 15 will be under construction from today through mid-October. The construction starts at the Essex Junction/Essex Town line and continues to about half-way between Underhill and Cambridge.

If you take Rt 128 from Essex Center to Rt 104 in Fairfax, it's only two miles and one minute longer (per Google).

Amazing experience for any young person
Early Spring ... someone's enjoying Mt Norris
A rare occurrence, but one worth memorializing this Sunday night: four generations of MNSR dining hall stewards in...where else, but Flynn Lodge, once again!
A huge thank you to all the wonderful staff at Mt. Norris. Christian had a great time and grew while he was there. Chris and Joey thank you for the support during Rock Climbing. He is afraid of heights and you both helped him get down the wall and earn his merit badge. You guys all rock!!!!

Mt Norris is a beautiful Boy Scout Camp in the heart of Vermont where Scouts learn and practice skills to last a lifetime. Mount Norris Scout Reservation is the Green Mountain Council's Boy Scout camp facility.

With over 750 acres of woodlands, lakes and streams, and fields, MNSR is one of the best places in the North East for young men and their leaders to come explore and learn about the values and skills in Scouting.

Operating as usual

[05/20/19]   The Little Things
As you can see from all the Beaver work day pictures, we had a tremendous turn out and a lot of work has been completed. Now the everyone has gone home and the Ranger is left to prepare camp for the summer.
If you are looking for some community service hours, or would like to help get your camp ready, schedule some time with the Ranger to come on up and help. There is a lot of sod and dirt that needs to be moved, lots of rocks on the grass from winter plowing, seeding grass, moving some brush, and I am sure other projects are waiting too.
Please consider coming up. Week days, weekends, what ever works for you.
But... contact the Ranger in advance to make sure he is ready for you. You can reach him via email at [email protected]

2019 Beaver Day - The people who made it happen 05/15/2019

Over the last several days, we've posted pictures of the projects going on at Mt. Norris. None of this happens without the dedicated volunteers that care so much for our camp. Here are some photos of the folks involved during Beaver Day. If we didn't get your photo.... either we missed the opportunity or it wasn't the most flattering picture of you:-) None the less we appreciate everyone (seen and unseen) who pitched in to make this such a success.

Wilderness First Aid to be offered at Mt Norris Scout Reservation

Wilderness First Aid (WFA) being offered at Mt. Norris this summer.

Greetings!
WFA is a course that I have personally wanted to take as I feel it's critical for any leader taking a group out in the wilderness camping.

We have worked out a deal with a SOLO group out of New Hampshire to provide expert instructors all five weeks of summer camp.
The price has been whittled down to basically covering our costs. You will find the same course offered for $50 - $80 more outside of the Council.
We also have designed the course so that not only the adults attending summer camp can take it, but Scouters from across the state can attend. This is a 2-day 16 hour course. We will provide a place to sleep and three meals a day while attending.

The reason I am writing you is we require a minimum of 12 participants in order to conduct the course. We need to know this 30 days prior to the start of the course.
I am sure many of you are like myself. Holding out to the last minute before signing up, because the Council never says "no".
Unfortunately we are only facilitating the course. If you plan to take WFA, I encourage to to register as soon as possible.

Here is a link to the registration form: https://www.scoutingvermont.org/news/wilderness-first-aid-to-be-offered-at-mt-norris-scout-reservation

Thanks, and hopefully I will see you at camp
