CONGRATS TO AARON HERNANDEZ!!! Hard work pays off for another DHS Champion! We are so proud of Aaron and the work he has done on the mat and in the classroom! We now have 7 kids competing in college. Aaron signed with D2 Landers University a NCAA Div II Program.
Congratulations to alumni Hunter Gonzales for making it into the blood round at Nationals. He lost his last match and missed being an All-American this year but will be back. He was unseeded but beat the #12 and #4 seed before losing to the #7 in the match to place. Great job Hunter we are very proud of you!
Good luck today to DHS Alumni Hunter Gonzales who is wrestling on the Jr. College Nationals on Iowa today. Hunter is 1-0 on the say having justes pinned the #12 seed in first round. Good luck Hunter!!!

Aaron Hernandez wins 4 matches today at CIF State Championships and is 1 match from placing. Will wrestle in the "blood round" tomorrow morning. Great job Aaron!!!

Today our beginners wrestled hard and missed winning the tournament by only 7 points. We learned some lessons and hope to build on them for the post season starting next weekend at the League Tournament. "Championship Month" is upon us. Where all the hard work pays off.

Our High School team in a rebuilding year with almost an entire lineup of Freshman and Sophomores who are just learning won this today at Corning Invitational tourney. I believe we ended in the top 10 with approx 45 teams. Great job boys. Special congrats to Aaron Hernandez who won the tournament in dominant fashion pinning his way through. Looking forward to post season.

Aaron Hernandez won the Joe Rios Memorial today with a massive win over #11 State Ranked Aikman from Ukiah. Noah Pettit took 3rd. Jesus Flores wok the consolation bracket and only loss was to the #1 seed. Great work boys! Thank you to everyone that volunteered and donated! Out wrestling family is incredible. Thank you!!!!

Hello to my Durham Wrestling Families and Friends. We are at the time of year for the Rios Memorial Tournament. This is our big tournament of the year at Chico High School. We need volunteers and donations! Please help us out. I love it when alumni show up and help or just say hello! Thank you everyone. We are having a fun year, but have a very small team due to a year off with COVID. We are so grateful to be back on the mat! However, we really need help from our alumni families and friends! Very proud of our young team today. They faced alot of adversity that was out of their control today. They did not complain or make excuses, but stepped up and battled. This group has very little experience but they have fight, work hard, want to learn the sport and do not shy away from competition. Not pictured here is Colson Thurman who was put in 2 different pools, taking 1st and 2nd. Also taking 1st were Jesus Flores and Zack Zwinger. 2nd place: AJ Lauderdale, Tyler and Matthew Porter, Edgar Flores and Leon Maxwell. This team is a blast to Coach!
Today was crazy. Started at 6 am getting our annual JV tourney going in Durham. Having a crew of Club girls going down to Roseville to wrestle in a Girls Tourney and watch some alumni girls wrestle. Raced up to Corning with about 45 kids from our club competing. The Club did amazing and brought home a 1st place team trophy. This is my 17th year at Durham. At this point we have about 120 kids in our program from K-12th grade. The group of Coaches, families, alumni and friends we have to pull off this weekend is amazing. I am in awe of the people we have in our group. I am so grateful for all of your help. I am tired but I feel so thankful for everyone who helps us out. Thank you! We got to watch one of our girls wrestling in College today! Tiyanna Leal went 2-0 on the day with a tech and a pin! Tiyanna is one of 6 DHS Graduates wrestling in college this year!

Congrats to Jacob Christensen for winning the starting spot at Northern Illinois University after winning the wrestle off yesterday against the starting junior wrestler. He may still red shirt but winning the spot at this point makes it very interesting. Nice Work!!!
