Shout out to our 1st JS Adame Elementary Newscasters of the ‘23-‘24 school year! Pictured here with our principal are 5th graders Jocelyn Carrillo, Aaron Arce, and Daniela Salazar from Mr. Jesus Hernández’s class.

Newscasters are responsible for leading the entire campus in reciting the pledges and our campus mission statement, report campus attendance and announce birthdays via Google Meet.

Shout out to Mr. Armando Cuellar, 5th grade teacher at Adame Elementary for doing an excellent job incorporating multiple goal one elements in his recent lesson on short vowels. After providing direct instruction and modeling for students, Mr. Cuellar had students engage in a collaboratice guided practice in which students did a word sort with short vowel sounds based on specific patterns, such as sorting words with short "a" sounds versus short "i" sounds. Manipulating physical word cards during sorting provides visual and tactile learning experiences. These sensory interactions can enhance comprehension and memory. 2nd graders Skyler Rodriguez and Aleah Hernandez in Ms. Alejandro’s class took the lead helping guide their classmates in working on their Place Value skills. Teachers at JSA Elementary teach more than just the lesson…they teach life skills, too! 💯

Mrs. Barboza’s 4th graders worked in groups during Reading class and signed their social contract during the 1st week of school. 🙌🏼

Ms. Hernández’s 5th Grade Reading classes finished the 1st week of school by creating an All About Me tower, writing complete sentences about each card’s topic and figuring out a way to make their 7 cards stand to form a tower.
