Intervention Support Service

We are committed to assisting schools and organizations in an effort to create “a culture of prevention” relative to aggression and disruption.

Intervention Support Service seeks to assist schools and organizations by providing teachers, school administrators, parents, and caregivers the skill set to prevent and manage disruptive behavior, within the natural context of the environment. We provide, on site in-service training programs, consultation services, and seminars for organizations working with children of all ages who display challenging behaviors. 11/22/2018

So much more powerful when kids speak about their emotions rather than having adults explain them. The glitter (mindfulness) jar used in this movie in conjunction with breathing are invaluable tools.

[09/12/17]   MindSet Instructor Certification in White County has been postponed due to the storm. I am looking forward to tomorrow through Monday. We are without power in Sky Valley since late last night.

[06/30/17]   My sincere thanks to everyone at Elam Alexander GNETS this week. MindSet has the "Wind At Our Backs" as we carry on the love and legacy of Marshall's life. This was an extremely difficult week for me but it was also one of the best experiences of MindSet training that I have had the privilege to be a part of.

Together we will make a positive impact on those we work with.

[05/03/17]   I am so happy to be involved this week with sixteen professional educators and mental health staff conducting another MindSet Instructor Certification Training. It is always a humbling experience to hear their stories of the good work that is going on to assist people in need. My sincere thanks to the good folks at Coweta County Schools for hosting this as an alternative to downtown Atlanta this week.

[01/02/17]   Headed to Mobile Alabama today to conduct another MindSet Instructor Certification Training at Mobile Infirmary. I am looking forward to my first experience working in a hospital setting. 11/22/2016

[11/13/16]   It has been a while since I posted something new. I have come to realize that the work of intervention is a must in all aspects of our society. Although the majority of my work is done within the context of public schools it has become more evident that there is a great need in our everyday experience as we interact with those around us. The Truth of the matter is that people are hurting. There is a lack of understanding and an indifference displayed by many. We can become examples of empathy if we are willing.

[11/02/16]   I am very happy to be involved with another fantastic group of educators in APS this week as we increase awareness and facilitate insight surrounding the use of physical restraint in schools. 09/15/2016
