記得不過4，5年前，我對基督信仰認知，相較於現在，算挺保守。我歷年來因著跟隨很多的坊間神學教導，使我不太能接受醫病行異能的服事。我的屬靈背景裡，有太多的知名教師，慣於抨擊行異能的先知與使徒們，甚至直控他們多半是造假的。

但我可以作證，在這場次所發生的，都真！這群弟兄姐妹們，有些我是的朋友，戰友，與竭心盡力培訓我們的屬靈大哥，大姐們。

實在是太奇妙了。。。

Probably one of my first gouache “painting” (well, more like a sketch!). This is a view outside my window back when I was still in San Gabriel, CA.

I find that a basic understanding of how joints work is at the heart of any believable mechanical structures we design. They influence the way we design, say, mechs.

Can you think of other types of joints I’m missing here?

While hanging out with new friends and fellow warriors in Yeshua, I sketched a quick color study of the beautiful mid-Taiwan countryside. As I sketch, I sense His peace and His pleasure laced in the light and the atmosphere.

One of my ways of passing down the legacy of Norm Schureman - making my high schoolers sketch ANYTHING they can think of any word they choose. How many can you jot down if you’re given only 10 minutes?

To me, Visual Communication is far more than just about “making pretty art”. It’s a way of sketching, coloring, shading, lighting, reflecting and texturing imaginary objects - in a way that look and feel like the real world.

“Form Follows Function” - before we paint a beautiful car rendering, we must understand what makes a car…a car! Dynamic Drawing - an engineer’s approach to sketching - is essential to design anything believable.

I probably should be teaching this more to my students. Form Development is so vitally important to a concept artist, and a *core* skill that I think is sorely missing in private art education.

“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created . ” Rev. 4.11

In this class, I shared everything I know about how to sketch a humble straight line, with a very smart elementary student.....using nothing but pens (and using another pen as a ruler).
