Our very own, Maggie Dibble & Darcy Millerick, are competing this week for Georgia 4-H State Congress! Wish them luck! 🍀

Georgia 4-H State Congress is the premier competition and recognition event for high school age Georgia 4-H’ers. Held each year in Atlanta, State Congress is a four-day event that hosts various contests, recognizes 4-H scholarship recipients, and honors state 4-H winners in a variety of projects and competitions. Throughout the week, we highlight outstanding 4-H student-led service projects, professionals, friends, private donors, and public officials for their contributions to the success of 4-H in Georgia.

The cornerstone of the week is the state level Georgia 4-H Project Achievement competition. Over 200 youth from across Georgia delivered 10 to 12-minute presentations in various project areas and met with judges to discuss their portfolio of project work, leadership, and service. Maggie is competing in Workforce Preparation category and Darcy is competing in Arts & Crafts category. If they place first place tomorrow, they will be a new Georgia 4-H Master 4-H’er.

We are so proud of Maggie & Darcy! 🍀

In honor of Administrative Professionals' Day, we thank Administrative Assistant, Jeanene Byrd Johnson, for all of her hard work and dedication to the Newton County Extension Office.

She is the voice on the other end of the line, registering youth for 4-H events, answering questions about soil, water, pests, and so much more! She can be found excitedly greeting walk-in clients, stocking publications, taking payments, and serving as the office encyclopedia!

Outside of work she is a mom, a "Nene" to two grandchildren and many others she claims and treats as her own, a DAWG fan, and a friend!

We truly appreciate all that she does and her devotion to Newton County Extension & 4-H!
