Eligibility Requirements/Documentation:
1. Applicant must be a graduating senior.
2. Applicant must have completed a BCS pathway.
3. Applicant must provide a current, official transcript showing at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale).
4. Applicant must submit a resume that demonstrates participation in FBLA/PBL and community service.
5. Applicant must include two letters of recommendation (one must come from the chapter adviser).
6. Applicant must submit proof of application/acceptance to a postsecondary institution.

We are blessed in Georgia to have SO many fantastic business and computer science educators in classrooms across the state. Now is the time to recognize you (or your colleague down the hall) for all the hard work and dedication to teaching business and computer science. We have extended the deadline for the award nominations to Monday, February 14th. We want YOU to submit a nomination for one of these awards. Nominate yourself, a colleague, a business partner/advisory board committee member, CTAE administrator, and a career guidance counselor to help us promote GBEA and the impact we have on students in CTAE pathways.
Award winners will be announced at our GBEA Business Meeting and Awards Luncheon at the GACTE Summer Conference in Jekyll Island on June 12th. Also, the applications for each award winner will be submitted for consideration for the GACTE state-level awards.

The award categories and eligibility requirements are as follows:
Teacher of the Year:
Eligibility: Individual GBEA members who are currently employed as full-time classroom teachers in a Business and Computer Science program. Contributions and achievements on which the nomination is based should have been within the past ten years. The nominee also should have been a member of GBEA, GACTE/ACTE for at least the past five consecutive years.
Outstanding Teacher in Community Service:
Eligibility: Individual GBEA members who are currently employed as full-time classroom teachers in a Business and Computer Science program are eligible recipients for this award. Nominees must be classroom teachers at the time of nomination and winner must be a classroom teacher at the time of award presentation. Contributions and achievements on which the nomination is based should have been made within the past five years. The nominee also should have been a member of GBEA and GACTE/ACTE for at least the past three consecutive years.
New Teacher of the Year:
Eligibility: Individual GBEA members who are currently employed as full-time classroom teachers in a Business and Computer Science program. Contributions and achievements on which the nomination is based should have been within the past ten years. The nominee also should have been a member of GBEA and GACTE/ACTE for at least the past three consecutive years or each year of teaching.
Outstanding Business & Computer Science Post-Secondary Educator:
Eligibility: Individual GACTE members who are currently employed as full-time baccalaureate business and computer science educators and other individuals involved in career and technical education other than full-time classroom teachers are eligible for this award. The nominee also should have been a unified member of GACTE and affiliate.
Outstanding Career Technical and Agricultural Education Administrator:
Eligibility: Individual GACTE members who are currently employed as full-time CTAE administrators other than full-time classroom teachers are eligible recipients for this award. The nominee also should have been a unified member of GACTE and affiliate.
Outstanding Career Guidance Counselors:
Eligibility: Individual GACTE members who are currently employed as school guidance counselors in education other than full-time classroom teachers are eligible recipients for this award. The nominee should have been a unified member of GACTE and affiliate.
Outstanding Business Partnership:
Eligibility: Businesses who have partnered with a Business and Computer Science program working with students, teachers, or schools throughout the year. Any GBEA member may nominate. Please include description of partnership, accomplishments, and impact.
