GMSP promotes motorcycle training, safety and awareness programs. Rider training is popular and potentially life-saving.
The Georgia Motorcycle Safety Program (GMSP) is a part of the Georgia Department of Driver Services. In addition to offering rider education programs, the GMSP also promotes motorist awareness programs, share the road campaigns, and is focused on highway safety issues affecting Georgia motorcyclists. Without proper training, new riders are more likely to be involved in a crash. Experienced riders also can benefit from additional training to hone their crash-avoidance skills.

Spring is right around the corner and a perfect time for group riding. Remember this tip for a safer ride!
When riding in a group, it’s a good idea to ride in a staggered formation, with the first bike on the left side of the lane, second on the right side, third on the left and so on. Always keep at least a 2-second following distance from the motorcycle directly in front of you.

In 2016, 46 percent of 18- to 34-year-old drivers killed in drunk-driving crashes over the July 4th holiday period were alcohol-impaired. Before you head out on the roads, make sure you don’t drive after drinking: Buzzed Driving Is Drunk Driving.

Planning to party this Fourth of July? Play it safe—always designate a sober driver or take public transportation to make sure you get home safely. Remember: Buzzed Driving Is Drunk Driving.

The 2018 Independence Day is America’s 242nd birthday! Make sure you’re around to celebrate the next one! Spread the word: Buzzed Driving Is Drunk Driving.
