The necklace an example from Beginner bead Stringing, the bracelet center left was a sample of the June Free class project (June 7,2016). The bracelet center right is a sample of Beginner Wire Wrap, and at bottom center is the start of the July free class project, Boho Braided Chain. These are the newest student pieces from my last two jewelry classes. First three, : "Beginner wire wrapping", the last one: "Advanced bead stringing". We had a blast !

Yesterday's Open House was fun. I signed up a former jewelry class student for three new classes. I was the only instructor at our store. By the end of open house I had sold my three classes and twelve sign-ups for kids "passport to imagination" classes! Not bad, since our store has no Wilton instructor, or art instructor right now.

Instructors's choice class last night was tons of fun. The project was a floating necklace, to teach basic design theory and crimping to create a piece in which the blank spaces become part of the design. My one student had never attempted any jewelry but she had very dexterous hands and learned very quickly. Looking forward to her next class. This is her finished piece from last night.

Hi ya'll sorry for the long dry spell between posts.. but there wasn't really much happenin at the bead corner. Michaels came out with a whole new set of Jewelry classes (again). There have been students in my classes again and I thought I'd share some student work with you. Here they are...they were a first for all 3 students. I think they made art ! Can you tell which one is on his second class?

Beginning in April we will be adding some new classes to the jewelry class lineup. We will now be offering a "statement" necklace class for those who like big bold pieces, and a "his and hers" bracelet class, among others. Brand new this year is our free "Jewelry 101" workshop. This is a two hour workshop in which the learner will create 4 coordinated pieces of jewelry. This will cover the four basic beginner skills needed to start expressing your own unique style. No pre requisite classes are required for this workshop, and there is no class fee for the instruction. You purchase only your own selection of beads and findings. This is a great starting point for our intermediate and advanced jewelry classes. I look forward to seeing you all soon.

This Saturday at your Conroe Michaels we are having an Open House for classes from 11:00 am to 2 pm. During open house all classes will be on sale for $20.00.
