Come to our SNO meeting tomorrow in B102 from 3:30 to 5:00pm. We are planning on having 9 different speakers covering at least 13 specialties in nursing. This is your chance to ask professionals what it takes to enter a specialty, what they like about it, and what experience is needed to begin a specific career path. [04/08/14] Sorry for the late post!!! SNO will have our last official meeting of the year tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 in room B142. Please join us for our awesome guest speaker, Bernadette Brown, RN, who will be talking about Care of the Palliative & Hospice Patient. This is one aspect of nursing that we don't get much exposure to in school so it will be a great learning experience! As always, we will have snacks and door prizes as well. Hope to see you there!

Items can be brought to the SNO meeting on Tuesday or dropped off anytime in the box located in the nursing office suite in the B building. There are also several other donation boxes scattered around campus. Thanks for your support!!
[02/10/14] Join SNO for our first meeting of the Spring semester on Tuesday, Feb 11th at 3:30 in room B102. We are privileged to have The Montgomery County Women's Center join us as guest speakers. They will help us understand how nurses can best help victims of domestic and other violence. As usual, we will have snacks and a drawing for door prizes. SNO will also be collecting items for Operation Pets Alive that is being sponsored by Lone Star College Montgomery. See you on Tuesday!!
[01/23/14] SNO Meeting Day Change: Just a quick note to let everyone know that for the Spring 2014 semester, SNO's monthly meetings have been changed to the 2nd Tuesday of the month @ 3:30 in room B142 (exception is March, it will be the 3rd Tuesday due to Spring Break) It's so hard to pick the perfect day for meetings since there is not one day that ALL the nursing classes are on campus the same day! We thought we'd move the meeting day this semester to give more classes the opportunity to attend. Thanks everyone!!
[12/10/13] Thanks to everyone who came out to the SNO End of Year Holiday Party!! We had great food and great company to end the semester right! Oh, and a HUGE thank you to all the volunteers who were recognized today.. we couldn't have had such a great semester without your help!!
[12/06/13] The SNO End of Year Holiday Party will be this coming Tues, 12/10/13 @ 12:00 pm in room G102. Food will be catered in from Mama Juanitas and we will have goodie bags for everyone. Please try to make it if you can as we will also be honoring all of our hardworking volunteers who helped make this semester a huge success!
[11/19/13] Also.. The Avoid the Stampede Registration event will be going on tomorrow and Thursday in the lobbies of Bldgs B & G from 10 am - 1 pm and 4 pm - 7 pm. Free food, T-shirts, and prizes. One lucky winner will receive free tuition for a year!!

[10/28/13] Please join the Campus Activities Board and SNO this Wednesday, Oct 30th from 4-7 pm for this year's Creepy Carnival. There will be a costume contest, pie eating contest, as well as many carnival games for the kids! The SNO booth will be educating the public on the cold/flu season and hand hygiene. Help with emergency preparedness for our community. This is a great way to help out and get training for community emergency situations.

Homeplace of Texas
This is a day program for adults with learning disabilities to help them learn workplace and life skills. They require a background check, but if you've already had one done for the nursing program they can use that one. Their executive director, June Jones, can be contacted at [email protected]
This is a hospice program located in The Woodlands. Volunteers can provide companionship for patients, respite for caregivers, or even help in the office.

[03/01/13] Hi all, we've just received word that this Saturday's Easter Seals Family Day Out has been cancelled due to traffic from The Woodlands Marathon. Last year families reported being stuck in traffic for up to two hours.
