Did you know that we have art rotations in Gallery SOHO every three months? Our Gallery team and preparators have been working vigorously over the last 7 days to give our gallery a fresh new look, with new exciting selections. We are also excited to announce we accepted 3 new local artists into our artist CO-OP. Please welcome Edwin Malave, Ed Gandara and Nate Mcmullen. Tonight as we participate in the Claremont Monthly Art Walk, we also celebrate our award winners from our annual Young Artist Show. A selection of artwork from the young artist will be available for viewing. Refreshments and snacks will be served from 6pm-9pm. We hope you join us in our celebration and support local artists on the walk. Our Story .......
A group of skilled painters meeting in Washington Park, Pomona, held their first exhibition in the Pomona City Library in 1948. This enthusiastic art club became the POMONA VALLEY ART ASSOCIATION in 1952. Its constitution and by-laws were adopted in January of that year. A move to the Pomona Mall in 1960 was the first of many homes for the Association.
Through the loyal, dedicated efforts of its members and friends, it has continued to serve the community, increasing the understanding of and appreciation for art and at the same time promoting and supporting many fine artists and artisans.
The Association is proud of the fact that its membership through the years has included outstanding award-winning artists who have achieved recognition and acclaim in the art world, such as MILFORD ZORNES, BETTY DAVENPORT FORD, DAVID W. SCOTT, & DON O’NEILL. As a member, you become part of its future history.
POMONA VALLEY ART ASSOCIATION is a volunteer supported non-profit organization dedicated to the stimulation of creative interest, education and the enjoyment of art in all its various forms. Nominal yearly dues entitles anyone to become a member of this old and honored organization. Gallery SOHO and The PVAA Art Place are both run by the PVAA located in Montclair Place in Montclair CA .
