My classmates in my cohort have provided support and have encouraged me to grow and keep pushing my boundaries of understanding. I am grateful to have a solid psychodynamic education to build on going forward in my clinical work.
After graduation, I will be joining a group practice in Plymouth, Michigan this summer and will continue seeing children, adolescents, and adults. I am also looking forward to joining Allen Creek Preschool in Ann Arbor as a Family Consultant this fall."

"Being a Chinese student in this training, I have gained a deep understanding of psychodynamic theory and practice while also learning a great deal about cultural differences.
Each class discussion has not only reinforced my passion for my profession but also broadened my perspective on cultural diversity in mental health. ICSW has provided a supportive and nurturing environment where I have grown both professionally and personally. I am deeply grateful to every member of the ICSW community for making this experience an invaluable part of my career.
In addition to continuing my work in the field of psychotherapy, post-graduation, I plan to write more papers exploring the intersection of culture and psychoanalysis, contributing to a deeper understanding of this vital area."

I’ve learned to think more expansively about how a deeper understanding of psychodynamics can inform social work practice, even beyond the therapy context. ICSW has encouraged me to be creative and thoughtful in the blending and braiding of social work's micro and macro worlds."

As we prepare for our 35th Commencement on June 8, we will be spotlighting each member of the graduating class of 2024.
Today, we celebrate Jaydee Tumambing Hughes, LMFT and PhD candidate at ICSW.
"As a transfer student from Sanville Institute, ICSW welcomed me with open arms. I learned so much from the few classes that I took, and even though I did not have a cohort group, each group treated me as one of their own.
It would have been difficult to complete my time at ICSW without the guidance of the professors, especially my dissertation chair, Dr. Ida Roldan. I appreciate Dr. Denise Tsioles and our dissertation seminar, for their guidance and support through the grueling dissertation process.
Simultaneous with my dissertation process, I agreed to be the Clinic Director for Ellie Mental Health in San Dimas, CA. Along with my business partner, we plan on developing six counseling centers (all Ellie) in the San Gabriel Valley and Orange County, all in California.
My intention as a Clinic Director is to assist clinicians in representing their true selves, fill the gap in mental health treatment, and extend culturally sensitive therapy to diverse populations."
You can support students like Jaydee with a donation to our scholarship fund. Contributions empower our graduates to serve in diverse settings and increase the availability of quality mental health care across the nation.
