Cadence's Road to Recovery continues in Cheektowaga

Cadence's Road to Recovery continues in Cheektowaga After suffering life-altering burns in May, Cadence Czerniejewski is recovering and back in school. On Sunday, a community she loves deeply put on a music benefit for her.

The Concert Benefit today for Cadences Road to Recovery is definitely going forward!

It's only going to be light rain at most, we can be under cover, they might be calling for rain next weekend, with all of the food that's been baked off, and the availability of our caterer, it's definitely in the best interest that we make today happen and make it awesome!

Please stop by and help this amazing cause! Doors open at 1pm and we go to 5pm at South Line Fire Hall in the park behind the firehouse. Tickets are $20 at the door.

Tons of food, musical performances and baskets! We got some pretty cool last-minute basket donations too! ;)

3 More Days!

The baskets for the basket raffle have been rolling in! We have a few baskets with really unique themes coming in, and plenty of baskets with items for everyone! There's some gift certificates too! We have a bunch, and more on the way, but definitely can accept more basket and gift card donations between now and Saturday.

Today we will be open from 2:30 to 8, tomorrow between 6:30 and 8:30 baskets can be dropped off (no rentals or sales between 6:30 and 7:30- we are having a rehearsal!), and Saturday between 9 and 1:30.

Let's work together to make this event huge!

The Benefit Concert to help Cadences Road to Recovery and her family is Sunday, September 11th from 1pm to 5pm. It's located in the park behind South Line Fire Hall. Tickets are $20 and we'll have plenty at the door.

ABSOLUTELY!

Besides the usual lineup of water, pop and bagged snacks, there will also be a....

BAKE SALE! Guess who is looking forward to contributing to that herself? Mrs. Karen LOVES to bake and is excited to share some of her favorite creations. Another contributing baker is on of Mrs. Karen's adult students. Karen has had some of her cooking/baking and can personally attest that we will be lucky to have her culinary works of art as part of our event.

We also will have Pizza from our neighbors at Pizza Factory & Ice Cream !

And last but not least, we will have catering by Krystal Kast. Krystal is a family member of Omega Deli, our other neighbor and her son will be performing as a soloist! She will have a station set up to buy hamburgers, hot dogs, Italian sausage and chili!

It's gonna be a good time of music, basket and item raffles, and it's going to be a FEAST!

We are still in need of some things to make the Benefit Concert for Cadences Road to Recovery even more amazing. We could definitely use some more basket and raffle donations. We also would love more snack and baked good donations (individually-wrapped, please!)

All donations need to be dropped off at Music Room by Saturday, September 10th. We will open from 9am to 1pm that day.

Our hours this week are Tuesday 2pm to 7pm, Wednesday and Thursday from 3pm to 8pm. Closed Friday, except for group performance rehearsal at 6:30.

Our first two of three group performance rehearsals are in the books! This group of students are really bringing their "A" game to put together a really high energy performance that will take place around 4:30pm at the benefit on the 11th! (Or 18th if it rains) The song, picked out by Cadence herself, is the title of the whole event, "I Got the Music". We are including elements of singing (of course!), a live band of our own musicians, rapping, and choreography.

We are hosting a benefit concert for Cadences Road to Recovery and the Czerniejewski family.

It will take place on Sunday, September 11 from 1pm to 5pm at South Line Fire Hall. Rain date is Sunday, September 18, same time, if needed.

Tickets are now available for purchase! They are $20. You now can order them online and have them shipped to you! Subject to $1 processing and $1 shipping fees, but if it makes it easier for you to help this wonderful family, this option is available.

Musical Theatre Icon Stephen Sondheim Passes Away at 91 Broadway icon Stephen Sondheim has passed away age 91. The legendary composer is widely acknowledged as the most innovative, most influential, and most important composer and lyricist in modern Broadway history.

Starting today, all customers and students are required to wear a mask or be behind a plastic barrier, regardless of vaccination status, and even if a vaccinated student has been released for unmasked lessons.

Good news! All staff members of Music Room have been vaccinated and enough time has gone by for them to reach their full potential immunity. This is Miss Angela, Music Room's woodwind specialist with an announcement! I will be presenting monthly masterclasses over Zoom!
Friday October 9th will be the first, from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, and it will be all about instrument care! I'll be going over everything you need to know about caring for your brass and woodwind instruments, including cleaning, storing, maintaining, basic reed care, sanitizing, some basic repairs and how to prevent them, and the importance of yearly checkups for your instrument!
This class is recommended for new musicians, musicians looking to better take care of their instruments, and of course, the parents of those musicians!
Cost is only $10 per person for the hour long session. Parents may join with their child for no extra cost!

Finally regular summer hours this week! Monday- Thursday: 1pm to 8pm.
Saturday: appointment only- call first!
If you have an In-House rental, you have about a week to get it back to us! Avoid late fees!

Due to a family emergency the following hours are in effect this week:

Friday 7/10: by appointment only, call first please
Saturday: 7/11: 11pm to 1pm
