Lowcountry Domestic Diva

Offering a little help along your busy journey...

Good Day! I just moved back to Charleston (born and raised) after living in Asheville for 17 years, and am looking to transfer my business from Asheville Domestic Diva to Lowcountry Domestic Diva! This business I have owned for 6 years has been primarily child care and green house cleaning, along with personal assistant and odds and end jobs that some folks are just not able to get to, in this busy world! A few services I offer are: professional organizing, party planning, catering and nutrition counseling, reception work for individual clients, "recycled and fair trade" interior decorating, light tutoring, house and pet sitting, and more! At the moment I am a very happy nanny of two great families which take up most of my days, but am trying to branch out and find evening and weekend work, and potentially build clientele as I had in the past, so that I can have other employees to cover your needs during days and other hours I am not available! Therefore currently I can provide minimal regular business hours, but am available often for weekday/weekend night time care, and overnights as well. I can watch your children in my home or yours. Background: I am a mother of a 17 year old son. Throughout this time I have been worked as a nanny for many families, and can provide excellent resume and references. I have been babysitting since I was twelve (actually formed my own "Babysiter's Club" once the books came out and I thought the idea was genius... this is an extension of that, I suppose, MANY years later!) I have also worked as a teacher at 5 preschools over the past 20 years, lead teacher at three of these, with most classes being 2-4 year old children. I have taken care of all age children ranging from 9 weeks up to teenagers, as well as elderly, physically handicapped (children and adults) and special needs children. I was the child care provider at Asheville Movement Collective Sunday morning dance daycare for the last two years, at Jubilee Church for two years prior, and was a part time sitter for the Bikram Yoga Studio of Asheville on and off for several years. In the past, I ran summer camps out of my home, and have a small set up for children to be at my space when their parents need a break free at home as well (including a full time position for two years, as well). I am a non-smoker and non-drinker, very health-conscious and live a natural lifestyle. I use creative play, as well as art, music, nature, reading and healthy physical activity in my daily routine with children. I have my own transportation and can provide transport for your children, errands, etc. I am a pretty good (and healthy!) cook, and have no problem including light housework and meal prep/cooking when I am sitting. I have worked for two different cleaning businesses in the past, before I began my own. I have a lengthy resume in food and beverage, sales, hospitality (multiple bed and breakfast jobs), and a bit of receptionist work. I have an easy going personality, am fun and energetic, and hold a gentle but consistent approach of discipline which seems to work well for most children I have cared for. I am able, of course, to adapt to your way of parenting (including learning more on your child care philosophy), and find there is usually a natural flow between the parents and children I have worked with in this aspect (and the others as well!). My actual website is under construction as it is relocating along with me. I will add it here in the next few weeks. Please be in touch if you are interested in any of my services! Thanks and have a blessed day. X

[05/21/16]   Does anyone in Charleston by chance have a tarp I can borrow for a couple days? Desperately need one as I am trying to get some stuff to Asheville today. I will be back by the end of the week at the latest to return it! 💜

[11/11/15]   Looking for any mamas or nannies out there who may have free time for morning to mid-day play dates? I have a most perfect toddler (almost two) from 9-2 everyday, and then a super cool five year old from 3-6. It is always just us, and though we have a lot of fun, could really use some playmates! Hit me up if you are interested? We are in West Ashley but can roam around, as long as it isn't too terribly far. XO
