If you're no stranger to these symptoms, I urge you to check for a high estrogen to progesterone ratio.

These symptoms are extremely common (not to be confused with normal), which makes it easy to brush them off or seek "bandaid" solutions to counteract their effects.

The reality is no hormone imbalance should be taken lightly!
Estrogen dominance can have long term effects like thyroid disfunction, blood cots, and stroke if prolonged.

Some ways you can start balancing your hormones right now:

💛Eat plenty of leafy greens vegetables to help protect liver health. A well-functioning liver is important for breaking down estrogens.

💛Reduce your alcohol intake. As little as one alcoholic drink per day can increase your estrogen levels, and unfortunately no type of alcohol is better than the other. This is also the reason for why regular alcohol consumption can increase the risk of breast cancer.

💛Aim for 30 g of fiber per day. Fiber is not only important for digestive health, but also assists estrogen detoxification through the bowels.

A professional GI map test is one of the most efficient ways to measure gut dsybiosis that could be causing this problem. It's included in my 1:1 Magic and Medicine coaching program and reviewed by a naturopath doctor to be sure you're finding the root cause and getting measurable results! Send me a DM to find out if it's a good fit for you!

P.S. For more info on estrogen dominance, check out my latest blog post. Link in bio!💋

Movement is a celebration of what your body is capable of.

It shouldn't be dreaded or feared—it should be FUN and something to look forward to!

If you dread exercise, it's likely because you haven't found a routine that works best for your body and lifestyle.

For example, if going to the gym and doing a HIIT workout or lifting weights is boring to you and something you have to FORCE yourself to do, then maybe you don't enjoy the gym - and that's TOTALLY fine!

Some other ways to get moving:
🎇roller skating
🎇team sports
🎇dancing
🎇jogging
🎇walking
🎇yoga
🎇swimming

Not going to the gym doesn't make you "lazy". There are so many other ways to move your body that are just as beneficial as crushing a spin class or picking up weights. It's just a matter of trying different activities until you find something that works for YOU!

What's your favorite way to get your heart rate up?

Tossing and turning all night just to fall asleep 2 hours before you have to be up?

The sixth step to balance blood sugar is getting 7-9 hours of sleep. Lack of sleep spikes cortisol, which mimics the stress of the blood sugar roller coaster and its harmful effects, such as weight gain, insulin resistance, high blood pressure, depression, decreased immune function, and more.

Poor sleep also increases the hormone ghrelin (AKA the hunger hormone). This hormone also acts on the pleasure center of the brain, which urges you to reach for multiple servings.

They key is routine! A consistent routine lets your brain know it's time to wind down, helping you achieve a deep, restful sleep.

For help with choosing a routine that works best for you, check out my morning & nighttime routine blog post! Link in bio💋

Are you being consistent with your meal times?

My fifth tip to balance blood sugar is to focus on eating at roughly the same times every day, keeping your energy levels sustained.

Eating sporadically or haphazardly can create extreme highs and lows for your blood sugar levels, which places stress on the body.

Eating one meal a day or having a light snack in the morning with a heavy dinner at night is setting your system up to be in fight or flight mode, rather than being able to properly divert energy toward healing, repairing, and thriving.

On the flipside, eating frequently throughout the day can also be taxing on the system and lead to insulin resistance, which means your body requires higher levels of insulin to stabilize blood sugar levels.

Meal timing can help repair insulin sensitivity so that insulin is highly effective in minimal
amounts.

This can be achieved by spacing meals throughout the day and having minimal snacks.

Finding the right amount and balance of macronutrients for you is essential for success. In my 1:1 coaching, we take your lifestyle into consideration when developing a meal plan that works for your body. Send me a DM to get started!💋

Managing autoimmune disease (or preventing one before it's too late) starts with our gut.

At only 22 years old, my psoriasis was consuming my day-to-day life.

It wasn't until I began working with a coach that I dug into the root causes of my autoimmune disease: chronic inflammation & stress.

What people don't realize is many autoimmune diseases are epigenetic, meaning we are not born with a predisposition to them. In reality, they arise due to a combination of environmental factors, stress, and lifestyle choices.

By learning this, I began to manage my autoimmune disease holistically. I learned my body's triggers, found healthy outlets to manage my stress, and chose foods that supported my body's functions rather than destroy them.

Our health is largely in our own hands, and we have the power to control our illness before it controls us🤍

BLOOD SUGAR BALANCING TIP #4: Count chemicals, NOT calories!

Increasing food quality is key to stabilizing blood sugar levels and improving overall health.

Imagine food on a spectrum. On one end, you have foods that are ridden with preservatives, sweeteners, and chemicals. The other end has the food that is organically grown and minimally processed.

Slowly incorporating more foods at the right end of the spectrum is key to building long-lasting healthy habits.

Follow these tips to get started:

1. Favor fewer ingredients. If you are buying something that is processed, scan the nutrition label. The fewer ingredients, the closer it is to the right side of the spectrum.

2. Keep it organic. Because organic food is a bit pricey, check out the dirty dozen list on the Environmental Working Group site to identify the foods with the highest amount of pesticides.

3. Phase IN to phase OUT. The more high-quality food you eat, the less you will desire low-quality food! No willpower needed.

4. Follow the Magic Plate (see my magic plate post for more info on this).

Support and accountability accelerates the journey to choosing high quality foods! My Gut Health Reset clients are empowered to make the best choices for their bodies while healing emotionally and spiritually. Visit the link in my bio for more info💋

Did you know that nearly 70 percent of your immune system is housed in your gut?

When food is broken down during digestion, your gut works to absorb nutrients that support a variety of bodily functions and eliminate waste from your body.

Healthy bacteria found in your gut is also used to stimulate the development of T‑cells, which are responsible for distinguishing your body’s cells and tissue from potentially harmful things in your body.

When there is an imbalance in your gut, such as an overgrowth of “bad” bacteria, it can confuse your immune system, causing it to start attacking your own cells. If your immune system is busy reacting to healthy cells, not only is it easier for you to get sick, it’s also harder for your body to recover.

Taking steps to ensure your digestive system is functioning properly is an essential part of maintaining your overall health. Being mindful of your diet and stress levels aid in supporting your immune system and keeping you protected from illnesses🤍

BLOOD SUGAR BALANCING TIP #3: Add more fats to your diet.

Since not all fats are created equal, I've illustrated the 3 types of fats and their properties to help you determine if you are getting the right fats in your diet.

Because of their inflammatory effects, TRANS fats and SATURATED fats should be consumed in moderation, while you should strive to eat UNSATURATED fats daily.

Unsaturated fats (healthy fats) regulate blood sugar because they're made up of complex molecular structures, which takes our digestive system longer to process.

Signs of fat deficiency include:

Brittle hair and nails
Dry skin or dandruff
Dry eyes
Being forgetful
Low energy
Always being thirsty

If you're struggling to get enough healthy fats, my Gut Health Reset program offers recipes and tips to help you stay on track with your nutritional needs and say goodbye to the blood sugar rollercoaster! Check out my Gut Health Reset highlight reel to find out how🤍
