You don’t have to be an artist to doodle and the benefits have been proven time and time again.
New article in Fast Company encouraging the spirit of the #DoodleRevolution, and it wasn't even me who offered this brilliant quote:
"When you engage in drawing, to the brain, that is like having chocolate. It feels good. And doodling actually activated it the most.”

Are you ready to take the steps towards becoming a more authentic leader? Are you willing to be brave in discovering what is holding you back or getting in the way? I’m ready to partner with you as a guide for that journey. Reach out and let’s talk about how to get started.
So grateful for last week’s training with Brené Brown and her team to dig deep into topics like how we armor up to protect ourselves from the vulnerability of feeling shame, how the stories we tell ourselves often reinforce those feelings, and how all that gets in the way of how we show up as leaders, partners, parents, and friends. Can’t wait to start helping clients who are ready to do the hard work of uncovering their own authenticity.
Two and a half days of amazing learning with Brene Brown. Can’t wait to bring this important process to my clients.
Just arrived in San Antonio for 2.5 days of training with Brene Brown to become a certified Dare to Lead facilitator. Let the learning begin!

We are so excited to be a part of the June cohort for the Daring to Lead program based on this same material. Looking forward to adding this approach to our leadership development and coaching toolbox.
The Daring Way™ is an empirically based training and certification program for helping professionals, based on my research. We offer curricula that focus on the topics covered in my books, including courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy. Our methodology is designed for work with individuals, couples, families, and groups.
Our goal is to make the world a more courageous place by helping people learn how to show up, be seen, and live brave. We rigorously train helping professionals in an effective and empirically based approach to change.
We’re building a community of wholehearted practitioners who believe in the worthiness of all people and who are dedicated to walking with them on some of their most difficult journeys. To maintain the integrity of our program, our community of professionals has access to peer support, case consultation, the exchange of ideas, and ongoing practice development and tools.
Join us in May or July for one of our 2019 trainings!

This is a great article about women helping women, especially important for women of color but a lesson we can all take.
consciouscompanymedia.com Women of color are the fastest-growing population of entrepreneurs in the United States. As of last year, more than 5 million Black, Latina, Asian, and Native American women sat at the helms of their own companies — pulling in $360 billion in revenue — and women of color now start between 600....

Getting ready for the kickoff meeting with our new corporate client and found a great little coffee shop/alternative office. Life is good!
One of our key actions is to help organizations hold fewer, more meaningful meetings with higher employee engagement.
Perhaps because they are aware of the futility of their input, fewer than half of the people in a large office meeting will bother to speak and at least half of the attendees will at some point check their phones

As a consultant, I’m often asked how to improve some current process or product that my client is struggling with. Looking at the material for a training class on financial procedures, I asked myself a question that we use in leadership coaching all the time…”was there a time in the past where you successfully navigated a situation like this?” With that simple prompt, I remembered a 2-day business simulation that I’d gone through MANY years ago when the organization I worked for at the time wanted a quick way to teach business acumen. The very fact that I still recall the training more than 20 years later says a lot about how impactful the approach was despite that the material was much like what I was now reacting to as dry and boring.
When I shared the idea of creating a financial simulation with my client and explained what I would model it from, they were excited and energized to move forward with this “new” approach. It just goes to show that we never know where we may draw inspiration from our past, but it’s there to serve us if we only ask the right question.
What are your go-to questions?

More and more I hear from senior executives who feel trapped by organizations that only want them to keep doing what got them to the senior ranks in the first place. They lament lack of personal and professional growth, and a waning of their technical skills. This article points out some great steps, including working with a coach who can help open the aperture to see new possibilities.
More evidence of a growing trend for remote workers. Number 7 about less interpersonal issues may be true, especially compared to those working in cubes, but doesn't address that a lack of interpersonal relationships may lead to disengagement. Coaching employees can be a useful way to let employees know they are valued while helping them address some of the issues of working in nontraditional spaces.
