WALK ‘N’ TRAIN

All clients past and present welcome for my farewell class.
Nothing but fun for the dogs. All the usual rules and regulations apply.
Hope to see you all on Monday - weather permitting!
Raven rocks and that’s all I’m saying 💝

Pug puppy crush 💙
Sweet Chloe rocking her virtual place training lesson with Mum Noreen. 💝
To all my clients past and present exciting times ahead for Key2K9.
I am setting up a new training business in South Carolina.
We are ready for the next chapter and while I am totally smitten with SC I will be leaving behind so many wonderful people and their beloved pets which all have a little place in my heart.
Times are complicated with Covid which has meant many of you have taken advantage of the virtual training programs I had to offer. As a trainer learning how to work from a computer was hard to start with and I could never have done this successfully without my special boys Rugby and Hutch - always willing to help me.
That will not change - in many respects for the time being virtual is the way forward.
So the fact that I will no longer be based in AL shouldn’t really deter anyone from a virtual program.
I’m hoping the weather will communicate and would love to throw out one last walk ‘n’ train. The class that is entirely unique to me. I have so many memories of the fun times we shared especially on our Saturday mornings. I always said the weekends were made for walk ‘n’ trains.
I’m going to miss you all so much but happy and blessed to have this incredible opportunity.
Can’t believe how fast Angel the English mastiff has grown since I last saw her.
This is a breed that grows physically really fast but they can take a while to catch up mentally.
Happy to say this girl and her Mum Denise rocked their lesson today.
We call it mastiff time 💝
Congratulations to this beautiful girl Stella and her lovely humans Michelle and Alex.
Their devotion and love and kindness and training has completely turned this girl around.
She didn’t have the best start in life and needed confidence building and a little bit of hep finding her inner Shepherd.
It’s now time to get out there and enjoy the big wide world. Go Stella 💝
Congratulations to Sarah and puppy Luna for successfully completing their virtual puppy training program - today we finished off with an in person lesson and Luna did a great job of showing off all her new talents ⭐️

Ok let’s talk masks!
As most of us are experiencing when we take our dogs out they are noticing something strange going on with the human population. Yes it’s the dreaded masks.
Let’s just think about this - half our faces are covered and we are communicating verbally through a barrier.
How do we help them understand there’s nothing to worry about?
Use 3 simple stages to introduce the mask.
1. Let your dog smell the mask.
2. Hold the mask to your face for a few seconds then remove and repeat several times.
3. Wear the mask for small periods of time around the house and talk to your dog as if nothing has changed.
Hopefully this should desensitize any anxiety that may be associated with a face covering.
Obviously there are dogs that aren’t bothered by this but I know for a fact that there are also many that are showing signs of being stressed.
Remember what might not seem like a big deal to us doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not a big deal to our dogs.
And finally let’s see those mask selfies - post them below 😷
