Black Achievers at the Cannon St YMCA

The Black Achievers Program is a college readiness program that provides students with an educational and social outlet that aspires to motivate them to pursue post-secondary education

The YMCA Black Achievers program provides purposeful targeted programming geared towards educating all teens. Throughout the school year we try to keep students engaged with a plethora of activities including but not limited to: Bi-weekly meetings held at Porter-Gaud School Speakers from various professions and walks of life World of Work Tours to local businesses In and Out-of-State College Tours SAT Prep and tutoring available

Mission: It is the goal of the Black Achievers Program to create educated, involved individuals that aim to contribute to the overall well-being their communities. It is our hope that in exposing students to the many opportunities afforded to them, they will realize that the options they possess are limitless when it comes to their futures.
