The Division promotes economic development with a focus on short- and long-term public courses, contractual training programs and consultative services for those currently employed as well as those seeking employment. Our training ranges from computer and soft skills to highly technical manufacturing processes, healthcare, efficient energy use, and safety and environmental compliance. Continuing Education is proud of its long-term training relationships with local companies and organizations in the community along with the established partnerships with local and state economic development entities.

The South Carolina Aeronautical Training Center is home to many academic and Continuing Education programs!

Today Dean Tim Fulford's freshman Engineering Design students built cars powered by mouse traps then tested their projects in Zucker Hall. Students in this course will complete specific courses at TTC, then transfer into an engineering program at a four year institution. Most engineering classes for students in a transfer program are located in the SCATC.

Who doesn't like getting something for free, right? Dorchester County residents will have the opportunity to enroll in the ManuFirst SC (Lean Manufacturing) program in 2020 at no cost.

The county will be offering the training program in conjunction with Continuing Education at Trident Technical College at the Dorchester County Adult Education Center beginning in January. To register for the program, completion of which several high-tech manufacturing firms in the Lowcountry accept in lieu of one year of manufacturing experience, those interested need to attend one of two upcoming information sessions.

Those sessions are scheduled for 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 at the Dorchester County Library, Summerville Branch at 76 Old Trolley Road; and 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19 at the Dorchester County QuickJobs Training Center, at 5164 E. Jim Bilton Blvd., in St. George.
