Last week, Boeing hosted Impact Week, beginning on #GivingTuesday, to encourage teammates to commit to making a difference in their communities.

Some of our BSC teammates took advantage of the opportunity to get their hands dirty with The Green Heart Project and clean up the outdoor classroom and garden at Mitchell Elementary School. Another group of teammates volunteered with Soldiers' Angels to box lunches that included personalized notes for local veterans.

Thank you #TeamBoeing for the hard work giving back to our Lowcountry community!

🌻Youth Internship Program - Week 1 Recap🌻

Week 1 of the Youth Internship Program was time for orientation and introductions and beginning to build our Intern COMMUNITY💚

A few highlights from the week included:
🤝 Team building

🌱 The first work day on the farm & an into to sustainable agriculture scavenger hunt

🍅 The first intern-led farm stand harvest and first intern-run farm stand of the summer

🍽 Our first culinary lesson where we focused on storytelling & food, getting to know Educator Anna by cooking and enjoying some arepas, sofritos, rice, & plantains

⚡️ Goals & vision setting of what we want to accomplish this summer and beyond.

A few thoughts from our interns on community:

“We already are a community, through the ideas of healthy eating, food accessibility, and gardening. We are really just working on getting comfortable with each other and figuring out who each other are as a person and learning their personality.” - Xavier

“I learned a lot about everybody and what they like and don’t like. I’m ready to be apart of this community this summer.” - Yrrah
