It’s #FromtheFarmFriday and today, we want to give an official welcome to our new Farmer, Sean!🍅🍉🌶🫑

Sean is a passionate farmer who loves his local community. In 2015, upon completing the Growing New Farmers program through College of Charleston he began his farming career. Sean operated Murray Heirlooms, a farm focused on growing organic, heirloom vegetables for some of the best restaurants in Charleston. He is excited to join the Green Heart team and share his knowledge with others in the community. He hopes to inspire a new generation to understand where their food comes from. When Sean’s hands aren’t in the dirt he enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, and watching the Boston Red Sox.

Everyone, join us in giving Sean a warm welcome 👋👋👋

This week, we launched the second iteration of our summer Youth Internship Program. 💚 We are so excited to welcome 8 new interns as well as 4 returning interns. We are so inspired by their passion, knowledge, and enthusiasm and we can’t wait to watch our 12 youth interns grow and blossom over the next 8 weeks. 🌸

Each week, we will feature one of our 8 new interns on our social media for a weekly Intern Takeover. They will share some “day-in-the-life” stories on our Instagram and write on our blog to give you a glimpse into who they are and their experience in the internship. ✨

To kick off our Intern Takeover, our first intern of the week is Michelle! Michelle is a rising senior from Ashley Hall who approaches each situation with diligence and open-mindedness. She enjoys swimming, violin, lacrosse, and leading in student government. At Green Heart, Michelle hopes to foster authentic relationships with her fellow interns and have meaningful reflections together. She hopes to contribute empathy, determination, and a good laugh to this program. Michelle is firmly passionate about the breakfast menu and sunscreen reapplication. 🎻🥍 🥞
