Harry Ding, an eight-grader at Buist Academy collected more than 600 medical-grade masks, 100 pairs of gloves, and $4,000 in three days.

Mr. Conyers is a 6th grade math and science teacher. He sets high expectations for students in an active and engaging environment. His students continue to make tremendous academic gains each year.
Mr. Conyers continuously looks for ways to expand his knowledge, provide opportunities for students, and grow professionally. He is a team player and has earned the respect of parents, students, and colleagues. We are fortunate to have Mr. Conyers as a part of our Buist Academy family!

As a part of our living library series and in honor of Veteran's Day, Buist Academy welcomed original documented Tuskegee Airmen, Dr. Eugene Richardson and original documented Tuskegee flight instructor, Lt. Col. Robert Hughes to discuss their experiences. Our students had the opportunity to hear from and talk to living legends. We thank them for their service and dedication to our country.

Mr. Garner has served for over ten years as a dedicated English Language Arts Teacher at Buist Academy. He goes above and beyond to support students and the entire Buist community. He constantly challenges all of us to think deeper and reflect on our actions.
Mr. Garner has been a faculty sponsor for Mock Trial, Spelling Bee, and the Quest Academic Competition. He is the co-creator of the school literary magazine, The Inkling. He has been a huge supporter of the fine arts department by helping behind the scenes and on stage. We are proud to have Mr. Garner as a part of the Buist Academy Family!

Please join the faculty and staff of Buist Academy in welcoming and congratulating our new Assistant Principal, Karrie Looney. Mrs. Looney has served as K-4th grade school counselor at Buist Academy for the past four years. Having served as a classroom teacher and school counselor, she brings to this position over 20 years of experience in education. She has always gone above and beyond to support our school community. We know that she will continue to bring the same level of knowledge, enthusiasm, compassion, and dedication to her role as assistant principal.
