We are a group of home educators in the Charleston, SC area that are Growing Together through classes, field trips, park days and other activities. You don’t have to be involved in everything we do; you are welcome to join us for field trips, park days and other activities even if you don’t participate in our learning cooperative (classes).
[08/18/17] Jim Koenig of King Fish Environmental is offering a Marine Science Class on Mondays, 2-4 PM, at Seacoast Church in Mt. Pleasant (some weeks we'll meet for field trips at various locations). Classes start 9/11 and run through the 2nd week of May. Registration is $100. The monthly fee is $85. If you’d like to enroll, please email me ([email protected]) with your name and your child’s name and grade level. Jim will then create an email list and send a syllabus and payment information. We have 8 children registered, but room for up to 15. Would anyone else like to join?
[08/01/17] Update on King Fish Environmental Class--- We have enough interest to start a class. I'm waiting to hear back from Jim with details. I'll keep you posted as soon as I hear anything.
It is with a heavy heart that I must step down as Endeavor’s head/lead. This decision wasn’t made lightly. Things that played into this decision are:
• The increased pressure of dealing with my children’s final homeschool years.
• The lack of response I have received from others on helping plan, teach and facilitate this coming school year.
• The other demands on my time.
Endeavor is currently setup as its own entity and as a registered charity in our state. This makes it a bit easier for someone else to step up and take it over. If any of you are interested in doing so, please contact me. If nobody else takes the position, I will close Endeavor at the end of August. I’m really hoping someone will step up and take over since I have heard of many that are looking for a structured secular option in our community, but sadly I am unable to be that person at this time. I’m still interested in being involved and perhaps in teaching (EIE) but I cannot do this at the library.
All the best to you, your children and your future.
We are starting to plan for next school year. If you are interested in joining us next year, please visit http://www.endeavorhomeschool.com/2017-2018-endeavor-interest/
