The SC Aeronautical Training Center is sporting an eye-catching new mural on the first floor. Local artist and muralist Michele Levani Art was inspired by the special details of the SCATC, taking note of the unique angles and bright colors that are repeated throughout the building.

Members of our team had the opportunity to tour Trident Technical College ‘s SC Aeronautical Training Center last week. It really is amazing what happens when education and industry come together for the community. In addition to the outstanding work they do supporting the aviation industry locally, they also have courses in mechatronics and advanced machining geared towards the automotive industry. The SC Technical College System offers programs to promote careers in many high tech industries and even give college credit to high school students. If you are looking for a high-paying career and need to know where to start, here it is!!
Aircraft Maintenance students learn how to disassemble, inspect, service, repair and overhaul opposed and radial aircraft engines in ACM 210 Reciprocating Engine Overhaul. This class is held in the SC Aeronautical Training Center.

Check out the cool new artwork from Trident Tech alum Octavian Johnson in the SC Aeronautical Training Center. This digital piece is printed on vinyl. Octavian earned associate degrees in graphic design and illustration as well as computer programming before transferring to Charleston Southern University to earn a bachelor's degree in graphic design. He is a graphics manager in Trident Tech's Marketing department.

Explore careers in welding, CDL, robotics, manufacturing, heavy equipment and more at the Be Pro Be Proud SC event Feb. 1, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., at Thornley Campus. Try virtual reality simulators in the tricked-out truck, which will be in the Bldg. 100 parking lot off Rivers Ave., and talk to Trident Tech faculty and staff about programs.

Trident Technical College and the SCATC will be closed on Friday 01/21 due to the possibility of hazardous weather conditions.

Due to the possibility of inclement weather, Trident Technical College’s campuses and sites will be closed Friday, Jan. 21, and the college’s classes and services will move to a virtual format. Online and scheduled online meeting classes will proceed as scheduled. Students in in-person classes scheduled to meet on Friday should check D2L for instructions from their instructors.

Employees who are able should telecommute. Contact your supervisor if you have questions about your work schedule.

Our free grocery vault service has resumed now that the holidays are over. If you find that your grocery list is bigger than your budget and you need some help, why not shop through the TTC grocery vault at the Palmer Campus. It's free and easy to fill out an order form. There is no application for TTC students, faculty, staff and recent graduates. Fill in the weekly order form at bit.ly/35adQbr. Trident Technical College, in partnership with the SC Council on Competitiveness (the Council), Bosch Rexroth and Fraunhofer USA, is offering two training seminars for manufacturing employees to learn, design and develop strategies to adapt to Industry 4.0 (i4.0) technologies for their companies.

These seminars are taught at Trident Technical College as part of the college’s workforce training opportunities. They are targeted to manufacturing employees and benefit any company interested in boosting efficiency and lowering operating costs.

The Grocery Vault exists to make it easier for students to complete their programs despite making financial sacrifices. Students, faculty and staff can select free items by noon on Mondays for a customized box of groceries. Pick up will be held every Friday between the hours of 10am & 4pm! The welcome center in building 1000 is a point of pick up for the Thornley Campus located on Rivers Avenue. Contact Gregory Cushing at (843-323-3502) to schedule your pick up or if you have any questions in regards to the Grocery Vault.

The Welcome Station in the SCATC is a pickup location for the TTC Grocery Vault! Complete an online order for pickup on Friday's.

Students make financial sacrifices to go to school. The Grocery Vault exists to make it easier for students to complete their programs despite these financial sacrifices. The Vault is located at Trident Technical College Downtown Palmer Campus, but there are pickup points at other campuses, as well as other delivery options for those without reliable transportation. The Vault is open to all in the TTC community (and you don't have to provide any financial information).

Students, faculty and staff can select free items by noon on Mondays for a customized box of groceries. Pickup will be held on Fridays each week between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at one of the designated pickup points. If students are ordering for a pickup from the Dorchester Campus in Summerville, they can only order nonperishable food items at this time. To order, visit https://bit.ly/GroceryVault.
