Congrats Mike!
Westfield writer wins VHSL Basketball Feature Writing Contest - Congratulations to Mike Sander of Westfield High School; he is the winner of the 2012 VHSL Basketball Feature Writing Contest. Mike is a staff member of The Watchdog newspaper, advised by Anthony Whitten.
For his winning story, Mike will: (1) have his story published in the 2012 VHSL Basketball Championship Official Souvenir Program, (2) receive 3 copies of that program, (3) receive his winning story on a commemorative plaque and (4) receive 4 tickets to the VHSL Basketball Championship games held in Richmond at VCU’s Siegel Center on March 6-10.

WESTFIELD STUDENT WINS FIELD HOCKEY WRITING CONTEST - Tatum Roessler, who writes for The Watchdog at Westfield High School, is the winner of the VHSL Field Hockey Feature Writing Contest. The winning story details how bonds were created within the Westfield field hockey team. Roessler will have her story published in the 2011 VHSL State Field Hockey Championship program, receive her winning story on a commemorative plaque and also admission to the championship games held at the National Training Center in Virginia Beach. Congratulations!
