Did you know that nature is actually good for your kiddoās growing bodies and their developing brains, too? Turns out the great outdoors is, wellā¦REALLY great!
Spending time outside gives children:
1. Focused attention spans: Research shows that spending time in nature can help reduce stress and symptoms of issues like attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
2. Better physical health: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says childhood obesity rates have more than doubled in the past 30 years. And whatās one of the best forms of exercise? Playing outside!
3. Vitamin D: Many kids arenāt getting what they need, but even a short stint of sun exposure can go a long way towards giving them what their body needs to thrive.
4 More energy: One study found that being in nature just 20 minutes a day boosts vitality.
5. Creativity and unstructured play: Kids are more likely to use their imaginations outside to invent and create while playing.

āThe children are the best part of being a teacher! I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I have worked hard to ensure the children have a great learning environment to complement the curriculum, and then I see the children repeating things they've learned to their parents ā or anyone else who will listenā
