Bianca is a Chicago Senior and received her Associate Degree by the age of 18 in 2022. She currently serves as president for the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), and Wardrobe Director for Ballet Folklorico Mexicano.

Her current goals are to receive her Bachelor Degree and to receive an internship this summer. Bianca constantly motivates herself to do more and celebrated her birthday this past Hoco Weekend🥳🥳‼️

Today we celebrate London White, a Chicago native and Marketing Senior here at SIU.

Over the summer she was able to intern at the Chicago City Treasurer’s Office and was elected for 2 positions in her sorority, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc.

She aspires to become a creative director and work her way to CMO and to become a local government representative in Chicago.

Last week, SIU had its annual student research forum. Our Ph.D. student, Nasim Nouhzadehmalekshah, won BEST POSTER of her research: Understanding the Adoption and Willingness to Pay for Web 3.0
We all often worry about your privacy on the internet. Well, there's a new version of the internet called Web 3.0 that might help with that! Right now, a lot of our personal information is stored in one place (like Facebook or Google), which can make us vulnerable to privacy violations. But with Web 3.0, data is spread out and decentralized, which means it's much harder for bad actors to access it. Web 3.0 also uses cool new technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain to make your online experience more secure and personalized.
We're curious to know if you would be willing to pay for a platform that you trust more with your personal information. And if so, what would convince you to do that? Let us know in the comments!

Last week SIU had a University-wide research forum and two of our Ph.D. students did poster presentations. The first one was from Bhaskar Upadhyaya Subedi. He is doing a study on "The Effects of Customer Engagement, Perceived Brand Equity, and Cultural Dimensions on Repurchase Intensions and PWOM...". Did you know that different cultures can affect how people feel about brands? His study was done to see how culture affects how people in the USA and India think about brand names. It found that the way people think about brands is different in each country, and it's important for companies to know about these differences. This is because some cultural traits can be more important than others when it comes to how people feel about a brand. So, if a company wants to sell its product in a different country, it needs to know what cultural traits are important to people there. This can help make better decisions about how to promote and sell more products.

Remember this always: Packaging matters.

Does a skinny soda can make you feel healthier? Beverage-makers apparently think so and are adding a slew of new skinny, tall cans to the drink aisle. There’s also a business case for the lean can—shipping and stocking is easier with the taller version. Too bad that’s not the case with humans on airplanes.
