DivorceLink Diocese of Buffalo

Through the Family Life Department we sponsor programs to help people get through their troubled time associated with their divorce or separation. Raps, is offered on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the each month. Our programs run from 7-9 pm in the Catholic Charities Building and Marriage Counseling Center on the Campus of St. Benedict’s at 3982 Main Street, Eggertsville, NY 14226.
In this group there are no 2 meetings alike. It is a round table discussion without a set format. The meeting is driven by those in attendance and 2 or 3 peer ministers. It gives you an opportunity to gather strength and support while talking openly in a confidential, comfortable, private and secure setting. It is a great opportunity to talk about something specific you have been struggling with in relation to your separation or divorce, or how to help your children in this trying time, as well.

Our Level 1 program is offered multiple times throughout the year, based on need. This program is also facilitated by 2 or 3 peer ministers who have gone through the process of rebuilding their lives after divorce. The program is a structured program that follows along beautifully with a work book and journal and helps you to forge through each different emotion and phases you go through in a divorce. Each week there is a set topic that is discussed and additionally there is time to talk about any specific emotions or problems you are currently facing in relation to your divorce. This is an 8-week program that is designed to help you get through one of the most difficult times in your life. Your fellow attendees become your friends as they can relate to what you are experiencing. This group is a closed after the week two so that you can form a cohesive support group that knows you and shares your journey along the way.

Level II is a program that is designed to help you with your life after divorce. Level I is a prerequisite for this program and it too works with a workbook and a journal just as Level I did. It is more of a rebuilding program, that helps give you strength to renew and restart your life after divorce. This program is also offered multiple times per year based on demand and generally follows the Level I program. Allow yourself the opportunity to gain some healing do something for your self or someone you love. If you know someone who is struggling, please suggest one or more of these programs as an option. You could be the guardian angel to someone who is struggling; the end result can be life changing in the most positive way.

[09/29/14]   You can still join us on for Level 1 on October 2nd at 7 pm. Let us walk with you on your journey if you are struggling or know someone who is struggling through their separation or divorce, pass on this information. We meet at the Catholic Charities Building on the St. Benedict Campus at 3982 Main Street in Eggertsville. There is still 7 weeks left in the program. We are using the book Divorce and Beyond, by Greteman, Haverkamp and Radtke.
