"Ja, vi elsker dette landet" is the Norwegian national anthem 🇳🇴, here played on the 1868 Erben organ by Maria Rayzvasser . Maria is an Erben Ambassador and Music Director at Bethlehem Lutheran Church - Bay Ridge (ELCA).

The lyrics were written by Nobel Prize winner Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson between 1859 and 1868, and the melody was written by his cousin Rikard Nordraak sometime during the winter of 1863 and 1864. It was first performed publicly on 17 May 1864 in connection with the 50th anniversary of the constitution. (Via Wikipedia)

Thank You Pastor for the beautiful service you had for my friend Dawn Valentine on Sunday evening. She loved her church and the folks in your congregation. My church and your church are fundamentally the same except I don't feel the warmth I saw at your church. I may be back.

A Good Time to Vote 4 Peace
Dear Pastor,

I'm the Provost at Stawa University, where we have a large group of Christian students. We would like our students to participate in your church via Skype--at least, in accordance with the university's mission of availing an international experience and relationship for our students. This can be during service or a small group, such as a Sunday School class or home group or mission group. If not with yours, Please put me in contact with a person with whom we could explore this further. Stawa University is located in Uganda, East Africa, and is perhaps the most progressive and innovative university in Africa.

You can write to me your personal thoughts, ideas, in addition to adding Stawa University to your prayer list.

God Bless,
Larry

This is an international group consisting of q***r and straight Christians, non-Christians and allies. It is also a healing and reconciliatory ministry and we want you to be a part of it. You can also join us on meetup.com and/or our page. Please click on the link for more info.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul. Worship God’s holy name.
Sing like never before, O my soul. I’ll worship Your holy name

The sun comes up; it’s a new day dawning.
It’s time to sing Your song again.
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me,
Let me be singing when the evening comes.

On the way to Jerusalem Jesus was going through the region between Samaria and Galilee. As he entered a village, ten lepers approached him. Keeping their distance, they called out, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” When he saw them, he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were made clean. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice. He prostrated himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him. And he was a Samaritan. Then Jesus asked, “Were not ten made clean? But the other nine, where are they? Was none of them found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Get up and go on your way; your faith has made you well.” -Luke 17:11-19

The apostles said to Jesus, “Increase our faith!”

Jesus answered, “If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Uproot yourself and plant yourself in the sea,’ and it would obey you.

If one of you had hired help plowing a field or herding sheep, and they came in from the fields, would you say to them, ‘Come and sit at my table?’ Wouldn’t you say instead, ‘Prepare my supper. Put on your apron and wait on me while I eat and drink. You can eat and drink afterward’? Would you be grateful to the workers who were just doing their job? It’s the same with you who hear me. When you have done all you have been commanded to do, say, ‘We are simple workers. We have done no more than our duty.’” -Luke 17:5-10

This , the Office of the Bishop staff wanted to show some extra appreciation by sharing some memorable photos with our grandparents and as grandparents ourselves.
We invite you to comment below with a special memory with your grandparents or grandchildren: maybe it was Sunday dinners after church or an adventure in babysitting; grandparent stories are always the best.
We wish a weekend to all the grandparents – biological or chosen; near or far; with us, or with God – your love is truly one of God’s greatest gifts!
