Prost, Irondale Ensemble Project! We’re looking forward to be beergardening with you on your upcoming play ‘Mother Courage’.
The little show that could just got a post in Broadway World❤️
Announcing our NYC Industry reading/presentation on May 19th!!!
May is National Mental Health Awareness Month, and I couldn't be more proud that we are beginning to share this story during a time when mental health is finally in the spotlight. Brianna and I just came back from a week-long workshop at CCM with director, Richard Hess who will be joining us in New York and directing the reading. The Incredible John Boswell will be joining team "Bubbles" music division, alongside Ryan Shirar who is orchestrating the show.
I'm so terrified and excited and overwhelmed. Over 5 years In the making. Turning pain into art has been difficult, but it's been the most rewarding road yet. Thank you to all who have supported me, it truly means the world. Thank you, especially to Kimberly Giannelli and everyone at the Irondale Ensemble Project who were the very first to take a chance on me and gave this story a platform.

Big Announcement!!!!

I am so excited to let you in on some Walking With Bubbles news:
Please help me in welcoming Brianna Barnes to team Bubbles! Brianna is a 2021 Jonathan Larson Grant finalist and a fellow CCM Grad. She is an incredible composer and lyricist and we have been working together for many months now. We're now at the point where we are ready, the show is ready, to go public with our partnership and I couldn't be happier. Brianna has captured the heartbeat and soul of this story and is elevating It through her music, beautifully. I can't wait to share more soon, but for now, please enjoy this teaser. The capture is from the Irondale Theatre's ON WOMEN festival that I participated in last March. The overlayed song is a snippet of one of the new songs in the show that Brianna has written. (Thank you to Emilio Maxwell Cerci for helping me edit this sizzle.) We are on our way and will continue to keep you in the loop about the show's journey. We have some exciting things coming up!
Hooray for new works!
Hooray for WOMEN creators!
Hooray for never giving up!

It’s with a heavy heart that we said goodbye today to Margo, Lera, Kristi, Anastasiia, Oleski, Nikol, Sofiia and Hanna. 💛💙

They have taught us so much and we will be forever grateful to have met them.

We hope to see you again in the future!!!

The group will now continue on their US tour before returning to Ukraine. Next stop: Boston, MA.
If you’re in the area, make sure to look for their performances and consider contributing to their fundraising campaign.

More than ever, we stand in solidarity with all citizens from Ukraine, who are having to deal with the horrors of a war. No one should have to go through that, especially children. 🇺🇦

➡️ You can still donate to this project at irondale.org/show-mom-on-skype ✨

And a HUGE thank you to our amazing community! We had a lot of help to make this happen, from people to organizations, and the audience really showed up to pack the house for both performances!

We hope this experience was meaningful to you as it was to all of us in the Irondale family.

THANK YOU!

How do you teach a workshop to Ukrainian children, when most of them don’t speak English? 🤔🎭

With a lot of games, improv, singing and laughter! 😆 or at least, that’s the best way to describe yesterday’s workshop with the cast of “Mom on Skype” and Irondale’s Young Company students.

The young actors enjoyed finding new ways to explore theatre through the universal language of Improv and theatre games and we made them smile with our attempt to sing a Ukrainian song with them 😅🇺🇦

Our Artistic Director Jim Niesen said that they played the most advanced game of Zip, Zap, Zop he has ever seen 😱👏🏽👏🏽

Don’t miss the chance of seeing these kids perform this weekend:

Over a week ago 8 Ukrainian children and there chaperones made a 26 hour journey from Ukraine to New York. The next week was spent at Sing For Hope, a children's theatre & music camp in Connecticut. As you can see from their watery eyes and big bear hugs, they made incredible memories and life long friends.

Upon arriving one of the children said that she likes America because "at home I could die any minute."

They will be in Brooklyn with us from August 8th to the 15th. During this time here they will be experiencing the best NYC has to offer: Broadway shows, concerts, the famous sights, experiencing so many cultures through food-- and, of course, rehearsing and performing their show, Mom on Skype, The Space at Irondale. The show dates are August 13th & 14th at 7:30 PM. All proceeds from tickets sales will be donated to Ukrainian defense and humanitarian charities.

It's amazing that we have gotten this far and done so much already, but we are scarping the bottom of the barrel. As our artistic director Jim Niesen put it "we have begged, borrowed, and bartered" to make this project happen.

And though this project is already underway, we still need your help to give these kids the best time they could possibly have! Whether it be $10 or $10,000 you can help give these children the best memories before they return home to the Ukraine.
