Stakeholder Input Needed
Jackson County School System is seeking community input in reviewing and revising our Comprehensive LEA Improvement Plan (CLIP) and System Parent Involvement Plan.
These plans help school systems coordinate their federal programs, so the needs of the students can be met.
The goals for federal programs are:

Improve student achievement
Provide professional development and growth opportunities
Improve parent involvement in their children's education

If you would like to make suggestions and review the plans, we welcome you to attend one of our upcoming meetings.
May 26 @ 6:00 p.m. or May 27 @ 8:00 a.m. at the Jackson County Central Office.
If you cannot attend, the plans will be posted to our system website by May 26. Email any additional comments to [email protected].

Safety Concern: Parents, students are not allowed to be dropped off alone at the front entrance of the school. Students coming in the front entrance MUST be accompanied by a parent. Otherwise, please utilize the car rider drop off in the back of the school. Thanks.

We have confirmation about the new date for the PET FEST art show!!!! MAY 9th at Galilee Church, Jefferson GA 10:00-4:00. The art will be set up in the large fellowship hall and will be safe from any rain! Art will be displayed and a formal announcement of BEST IN SHOW will take place. Pictures of everyone will be in the paper!!!

Field Days will be here soon. Field Day will begin at 9 am and run through 2 pm. We will break for lunch from 11 am-noon. Students will spend the day participating in activities they have learned and participated in throughout the year.
Tuesday May 19th – First Grade
Wednesday May 20th – Pre K and Kindergarten
Thursday May 21st – Second Grade
If you would like to volunteer to assist with your child’s class please contact your child’s homeroom teacher.

Next Thursday and Friday, we will be celebrating "Month of the Military Child" at WJPS. (April 23rd and 24th)
We will be dressing up each day using the following themes:
Thursday: Wear Purple to honor those who are currently serving in our military along with their children.
Friday: Wear Red, White and Blue to honor our country.

Congratulations to these talented young artists! Isabela Valentin, Lori Martin, Ruth Dooley, Mauri Morales, Kaylee Cates, Roberto Marrufo, Macy Copponex, Gabby Lee and Leana Bratnichenko will be representing WJPS in the student art competition at the Humane Society's Pet Fest this Saturday, April 18th at Crow's Lake in Jefferson from 10-4:00.
