Congratulations Greenacres 4H members that attended Fun Day. The members brought home the 1st place trophy for the middle school Club Yell competition.

It's Freaky Friday at GMS today! The students are dressed like teachers and the teachers are dressed like students.

After school Tutoring Cancelled today, 5/5/22, due to predicted inclement weather.

Brooklyn Mims received the honor of outstanding 4-H member and was recognized at the school board meeting! Mrs. Boydstun was also awarded the Spirit of 4-H award.

Students, get ready to dress up like one of your teachers!
This Friday, May 6th, Student Council is having a dress up day and it's FREE if you participate.
Come to school dressed like a specific teacher or staff member! Non uniform clothing IS ALLOWED IF you are dressing as a teacher.
NO JEANS, NO RIPS, NO tights.
No inappropriate wording.
You may wear other accessories that would go with the look that help identify the teacher or staff member ....such as wigs, glasses, etc.

There will be a PRIZE for the best costume for each grade!
If you are not dressing as a teacher, you MUST be in REGULAR uniform.

The deadline to sign up for summer school is this Friday. If you are not passing and need summer school for promotion, you will need to register by Friday. The link is posted on our website.

Congratulations to our Optimist Rising Star Winners Hector Pan (7th) and Kyranisha Williams (8th)! These students were recognized in a luncheon for their growth and hard work this year.

The next two weeks we will be testing at GMS on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays. It is very important to be at school, if possible, on all testing days. Please make sure your student(s) get a good night sleep, eat a good breakfast, and get to school on time. Encourage your student(s) to put forth their best effort each day.

ALL after school activities are cancelled due to possible weather conditions. This includes: CultureFest, Student Council Meeting, and Tutoring.

Last night’s storm caused widespread power outages and damage in Haughton and Plain Dealing.

Today, all schools in Haughton and Plain Dealing will be closed. This includes Haughton Elementary, Haughton Middle, Haughton High, T.L. Rodes, Platt, Princeton and Plain Dealing High.

All other Bossier Parish schools have power and will be open as normal. However, if students or employees cannot get to school or their work site or it would be dangerous to do so, they will be excused.

Congratulations to the Choir! Choir students participated in the District 8 Choral Festival last week and received a superior rating from every judge! Students received a sweepstakes award for their superior performance and superior sight-reading skills. They were also complimented throughout the day for their poise and focus. Your dedication and hard work pays off. Way to go Choir!

GMS Band traveled to Airline High School last week to compete District Concert and Sight reading Assessment. The band earned first division ratings in both categories of competition, resulting in a Sweepstakes award - the highest award that can be given to a band. Congratulations to the 44 band students who represented our school and displayed their hard work with pride.
