Timberline High Announces New Head Varsity Tennis Coach
Boise, ID -- 12/04/2019 -- Becky Koessler has been re-hired as the new Head Varsity Tennis Coach at Timberline High School. Coach Koessler took a year off during the 2018-2019 season after serving as the Head Coach since 2014. She has helped the Timberline Girls Team win 4 District Titles and 3 State Titles while also helping the Timberline Boys Team bring home a 2nd and 3rd place finish at State.
"We are excited to have Coach Koessler back with us this year," said Timberline Athletic Director Tol Gropp. "Her unbridled enthusiasm and positivity inspire her athletes. Her coaching philosophy is to bring the best out of every student athlete by developing the habit of excellence - you are what you do repeatedly. ”
Coach Koessler is certified in Elementary Education and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Washington. She currently teaches at East Junior High School. She lives in Boise with her two sons Andrew and Clay.

[05/02/19] Okay, where do I begin with our season this year...A 10-0 dual match record, Champions in the 16 team Tri-cities Invitational, Champions of the 8 team Timberline Team Invitational, Champions of the 36 team Capital Classic Tennis Tourney...An undefeated team season...Well let me start here: Seniors Drew Scott, Helen Wang, Tanishq Khurana, Ashley Tran, Asher Hawkins, Jaden Provant, Sammi Ma and McKenna Wegner. These seniors were challenged with an extremely high bar and chose to exceed rather than accept the baseline...The coaches are so proud of you, not only what you have achieved this season on the court but what you are going on to achieve after you leave Timberline...A great steward leaves the program in better stead when you left it, you are certainly great stewards and we look forward to the rest of the season as well as the rest of your careers as you ascend to greater things...You have earned the right to be confident and proud...Continue to be solid, not spectacular...For all of you that is enough to guide you through the bright future that awaits you. Let's get it Wolves!!
Timberline Tennis wins the 2019 36-team Capital Invitational Tennis Championship with 308 points. Undefeated on the season in duals, 4-time champions in the Tri-Cities Invite, champions in the inaugural Timberline Team Invite and now the Capital Invite. What a great group of players, families and coaches who have come together for a special season. The height of your success is proportional to the depth of your belief. Timberline remains undefeated in duals after a home win against our great friends from Century High School in Pocatello and coach Sean Kane. They are a classy program and we enjoy hosting them the day before the start of the 36 team Capital Classic which runs at 14 sites in the Treasure Valley Friday and Saturday. Today's match results:

Timberline High Tennis wins the 2019 Timberline Invitational Team Championship with 9-2 wins over Mt. View and Parma and an epic 6-5 win over Boise High in the championship. With the match tied at 5-5, senior Tanishq Khurana and junior Matt Verschoor, after splitting the first two sets, won the super tie-break 10-7 to clinch the victory for the Wolves. Timberline remains undefeated on the season, 6-0 in duals and champions in the Tri-Cities Invitational and the Timberline Team Invite. Congratulations to the players and coaches. A big thank you to all of the parents and families for their support of our program, we couldn't do it without you!
T Wolves remain the holders of the Tri Cities Invitational trophy with a scant 2 point margin over an always competitive and classy Wenatchee HS program...back-to-back-to-back-to back 4-peat. [04/11/19] Timberline toughs out a hard fought win in very windy conditions at home against Boise High today. Boys and girls win by identical 3.5 to 2.5 scores for a 7-5 cumulative team win. Head Tennis Coach Appointment
Boise, ID -- (01/24/2019) -- Timberline High School is pleased to announce the following head coaching appointment.
Paul Koessler has been hired as the new Head Varsity Tennis Coach at Timberline High School. Coach Koessler has served as a Varsity Assistant Coach at Timberline the last 4 years and has helped lead the Wolves Girls to 4 straight 5A District Championships and 2 5A State Championships.
Coach Koessler also helped lead the Timberline Boys to a 2nd place finish at District and State last season. He was a 2-sport athlete at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington in basketball and tennis. He was a 3-time All-Conference and All-District selection in tennis and was named All-American his junior year. Coach Koessler is a United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Certified Elite Professional.
