The Idaho Debates on Idaho Public Television:
Superintendent of Public Instruction, 2022 Republican Primary

Republican candidates for Superintendent of Public Instruction debate ahead of the May 17th primary election. Former state senator Branden Durst, former Idaho State Board of Education president Debbie Critchfield, and incumbent Idaho State Department of Education head Superintendent Shrerri Ybarra respond to questions from Betsy Russell of the Idaho Press, Jakob Thorington of the Post Register, and Kevin Richert of Idaho Education News, moderated by Idaho PTV's Aaron Kunz.

The Idaho Debates is a collaborative effort among the Idaho Press Club, Boise State School of Public Service, University of Idaho McClure Center, Idaho State University Department of Political Science, League of Women Voters of Idaho, and Idaho Public Television. The goal of the debates is to give the public an unbiased platform to hear the views of candidates on the ballot for statewide and congressional office. Find out more at https://www.idahoptv.org/elections/
Tonight on Idaho Reports:
Ruth Brown talks with Twin Falls Housing Authority executive director Sunny Shaw and Madelyn Beck of Boise State Public Radio about Idaho's affordable housing shortage.
Then, Logan Finney is joined by Stephanie Witt and Jaclyn Kettler of Boise State School of Public Service for a primary election pundits table. #idleg #idpol
Watch Friday at 8 p.m. on Idaho Public Television, or stream after it airs at www.idahoptv.org/idahoreports or in the PBS app.

The exhibit is de-installed, but the memories will last. What a fabulous time in Helena, Montana with SARA's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who came from Montana, Utah, California, Idaho and Washington to celebrate this stunning show. Thank you to Idaho Public Television for capturing more of the story. Special thanks to Ramsay and Chris and all of the staff at Holter Museum of Art, who "get" SARA. We'll be back!
Our thanks to our alumnus and friend Jeff Tucker, general manager of Idaho Public Television, for talking with broadcasting and journalism students today at KUID-TV.
Idaho Public Television, great article!! l propose we hold an interview with people this age and talk to them about how they feel about Idaho politics, I’m all in. We invite all the candidates for Idaho Governor participate. We can call it an open forum. I suggest also we have it intellectually moderated by Joe Rogan or Megyn Kelly or maybe someone else the people choose? (leave your suggestions below) IMO: Idaho citizens deserve to hear from the people who are interviewing for the job of Governor. What do you think? #idaho #idahopolitics
I’m pleased to announce that our Dialogue with author Catherine Grace Katz at the Sun Valley Writers' Conference has been nominated for a NATAS NW Emmy Award in the Interview/Discussion category.

I talked with Ms. Katz about her book, “The Daughters of Yalta,” which chronicles the experiences and contributions of Anna Roosevelt, Kathleen Harriman and Sarah Churchill during the historic Yalta Conference of World War II. You can watch the conversation for free at the link below.

Katz’s book is well worth reading, not only to gain an appreciation for the three women at the center of the story, but also to ponder some of the antecedents to the Russian invasion of Ukraine we are witnessing today.

On a lighter note, Idaho Public Television has been nominated for 13 regional Emmy Awards this year, including General Excellence. It takes a team; best of luck to all!

— Marcia Franklin, producer and host
(Idaho Capital Sun) - Gov. Brad Little, state Rep. Priscilla Giddings and Congressman Mike Simpson will not participate in the statewide televised Idaho Debates on Idaho Public Television ahead of this year’s primary elections. The remaining debates begin Tuesday.
This week on Idaho Reports: Betsy Russell of the Idaho Press discusses election debates and the latest in the lawsuit over Idaho’s new abortion law. Then, Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Family and Community Services Administrator Cameron Gilliland and Program Specialist Julie Sevcik from the Department of Health and Welfare discuss this legislative session’s investments in the child welfare system.

Watch Friday at 8pm on Idaho Public Television, or stream after it airs at www.idahoptv.org/idahoreports or in the PBS app.
BREAKING: Governor Brad Little drops out of KTVB & Idaho Public Television gubernatorial debates.

Campaign manager Hayden Rogers said:
"Idaho has the strongest economy in the nation. Governor Little has a proven track record of cutting red tape, responsibly managing the budget and the economy, and providing Idaho families and businesses with historic tax relief and record investments in schools, roads, water, and other areas. Those historic accomplishments and facts are non-debatable.

Brad Little is hands-down the most accessible Governor in Idaho history. He has made it a priority to meet with Idaho families, businesses, and members of the press. Idahoans know what Governor Little stands for. They know he will continue to fight for them and make our state the place where our children and grandchildren choose to stay."

This comes hours after Rep. Priscilla Giddings pulled out of Lieutenant Governor debate against Scott Bedke.

This is truly baffling.
BOISE (AP) — Idaho Gov. Brad Little said Friday he won’t participate in debates heading into next month’s Republican primary.

The first-term governor had been invited to participate in debates put on by The Idaho Debates on Idaho Public Television and KTVB.
