Passport to Boise

Learn, Explore, Experience, Enjoy! Originally started in 2014, the Passport to Boise program partners with local area businesses to offer a behind-the-scene view of how these businesses work, make money, and contribute to the community.

Our founder, Tobe Brockner, had a vision of showing kids the myriad of opportunities available to them for a career path. Primary school>secondary school>college>9-5 job>retire is just one path in life. But there are so many other paths; entrepreneurship/business ownership being another. By participating in the Passport program, kids will explore all sorts of different career paths that they may h

Hi friends! I’m excited to announce the re-launch of Passport to Boise this summer! We’re doing a bit of a rebrand on it and it will now be known as Kid Capitalist, but the program will remain the same.

If you are unfamiliar with the program, it helps kids aged 7-17ish explore different businesses in the Treasure Valley to see how they operate, create their products/services, serve their customers, and contribute to the community.

Businesses participate by agreeing to host a monthly workshop or activity during the summer months, giving these kids a behind-the-scenes look at their company. The kids buy a passport book and can go to as many of the activities as they want all summer long. At our peak we had over 300 activities for these kids to participate in.

If you are a business in the valley and would like to join us I would love to chat with you a bit more about the program. There’s no cost to participate and it’s a great way to help kids discover entrepreneurship.

To learn more or if you have questions please shoot me an email at [email protected]

Thank you!

P.S. if you know of anyone who would be a good fit, please share this post with them…my goal is to have 100 businesses participate this summer!

Hi guys, Tobe from Passport to Boise here. I am the original founder and am thrilled to let you all know that we are planning on bringing Passport back this Summer 2022!

We know it has been a long hiatus and we were bummed to have to put it on hold for so long, but we are so looking forward to launching things again! There will be some slight changes, but nothing too major. We are also currently working on a new website so that should be up soon with more information.

I will keep you posted here on Facebook, but if you want to send us a message with your email I can communicate with you that way too. Thanks so much for your past support and I hope to see you and your kiddos again this year.

~Tobe

Today, my company, V-Squared Creative, hosted Squirt Gun Art. We filled water guns with paint and let the kids decorate their own little canvas to take home.

I talked to them about creativity and art and business and how those things aren't mutually exclusive. I talked to them about how school is important, but intelligence comes in many forms and isn't always best measured by standardized tests.

And I told them that some things - like ambition, kindness, and life-long learning - will get them as far or farther in life than a straight A report card.

Above all, we had fun. ~Tobe
