It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we learned of the passing of our friend and colleague, Dr. Javier Castaneda. Javier served Caldwell families and children as the principal and leader of Heritage Community Charter School. Javier came to Caldwell as a veteran educator from Oregon.

His commitment to children and families, calm competence in the heat of the moment and natural leadership was evident to all who worked with him. Bluum shares our respect, love and prayers with Javier’s wife Maria and to his seven children. We know Javier’s death is a painful blow to the entire Heritage School Community. Javier was an outstanding educator and an even better man who will be greatly missed by all that were fortunate to know him.
