Operating as usual

My life wouldn’t be the same if I didn’t have the strong, beautiful women that I have in my life. I am blessed.
Price
😳Harvard conducted a study and found that 68% of people lie when they tell you price is the reason they are not purchasing. (😑How dare they!?)
💵 PRICE is relative! What YOU value is not the same as others. What YOU’RE willing to pay for a product, service or experience is going to be different than someone else.
*YOUR job is to raise ⬆️ THEIR perceived value to the point that it exceeds the perceived pain from spending that much money. 😃 > 😩
⚖️ The value received in THEIR mind must outweigh the cost! If it doesn’t, NO SALE!
🎯 Get good at understanding what drives people, what motivates them, and how they see value.
🏆 Get good at shifting their perspective, communicating, and increasing value and you will find that price is no longer the issue why people aren’t buying your product/service.
Sacrifices and schedules.
If you have big goals and dreams and aspirations, you need to get a coach - someone who has achieved what you want to achieve.
They can help you avoid the pitfalls and mistakes, help you overcome the challenges, and shorten the learning time.
It doesn’t matter if you are trying to lose weight or take your business to the next level. There is someone who has done what you want to do.
Find them! And pay them to help you.
When you pay them, you have a different level of focus and attention. You want to get a return on your investment.
They hold you accountable and don’t buy into your excuses (if you get the right one). They find a way to get results.
Don’t be insane! Don’t do the same thing over and over again and expect different results - the actual definition of insanity.
Get a coach, pay them to help you, and get results! Or keep putting off your goals and keep telling yourself that you’ll do it.
Up to you! How bad do you want it?

9 years ago was our first camp to collect shoes for other hoopers. The cost of admission...a pair of new or slightly used shoes. It was called Hope 4 Hoopers.
It started while I was in my masters program with a school project. One night visiting my Roomate’s locker room after a game, I noticed there were all kinds of shoes left over to be thrown away. Shoes that were barely used. We thought if a small Christian college had boxes of shoes, bigger colleges probably had truck loads. The project turned into something bigger than just a school thing.
What started as a fun passion project turned into a non-profit organization and expanded from basketball to all sports. We partnered with multiple smaller colleges, University of Oregon, and the Harlem Globetrotters. We changed to Playing for Kickz!
Shoes were coming in by the truck load. It was a blast! Unfortunately, in America nobody was really open to accepting used shoes so we ended up going to the Philippines to put on camps and donate the shoes.
It was an absolutely amazing experience but it was a failed business. It failed because a lack of a sustainable revenue model. Knowing what I know now, it would have had a much better chance at surviving and succeeding.
Failures can be seen as failures or as learning moments. I failed forward and became better as a leader and a business owner. We made so many great relationships and memorable experiences. I’m blessed that we were able to help so many people and look forward to the day I can get back to doing it.

How do you eat an elephant? --> One bite at a time.
Don’t worry about trying to get everything done at once. Especially if you are juggling multiple things or if it’s a side project.
Putting in effort consistently adds up to something big. 15 minutes a day for the next 3 months adds up to almost 24 hours.
If you wanted to block it off and break it up and do an hour and 45 minutes a week, that works too.
You can’t use the excuse “I didn’t have time”. The reality is you just chose to do other things. Everyone is on an equal playing field when it comes to time. The beggar and the billionaire both have 24 hours. They just use their time differently.
Everyone can squeeze 15 minutes out. It’s just a matter of priority. Get up 15 minutes earlier. Have a shorter lunch. Stay up 15 minutes later.
Find a way to block off and dedicate time to the things that matter.
You got this!

Too many people view failures as too big of a deal.
I remember hearing a story about an employee losing his company millions of dollars. His supervisor asked the boss “so are we going to fire him?” to which the boss replied “No, we just spent millions of dollars educating him. Let’s make sure he learns from it so this never happens again.”
You are going to make mistakes. We all do. You are going to miss out on sales. It happens to the everyone.
The difference with those that have continued success is not that they don’t fail, it’s that they get up quicker, they learn from it, they make adjustments and they push on.
Those that dwell on the failure carry that emotion with them. Their confidence and attitude are affected. This affects how much action they take and the quality of their work. This in turn makes the results and future outcomes less successful. They stay in that rut until something or someone pulls them out of it.
You have a choice in how you view failures. You have a choice in how you react, how quick you get back up, how you adjust. It’s ALL UP TO YOU.
Choose to view failures differently. Brush it off. Learn. Adjust. You got this!

Happy Mother’s Day to two of the most amazing women I know. Words can’t express how blessed I am to share this this life with you. It’s because of you and all of the other mothers out there that us men are the way we are. I know you don’t get the praise you truly deserve. It is one of the hardest, most selfless jobs a person can undertake. I hope all of you mothers out there had an absolutely amazing day and were showered with love. Thank you for everything! We love you! 😘 🤗
I had a chance to have breakfast with Tony Dungy back in 2011. He said that Champions don’t do extraordinary things, they do the ordinary things better than everyone else. Little things matter!

Neuroscience reveals how gratitude literally rewires your brain to be happier We often hear about the power of gratitude for creating a more positive and happy mental state. But did you know that gratitude literally transforms your brain? Your mind is powerful.

You have to be willing to give up to go up. No one became successful without sacrificing something. I know for me, I don’t want to look back and say the thing I sacrificed was my goals and dreams.
I have fallen in love with helping others have success in sales. Thank you to all of those people being open and allowing me to share what has worked well with me.
Please don’t be afraid to be a coach or a helping hand to someone else on your team. You don’t have to be the expert or top performer to give back. Sometimes just being two steps ahead can help someone else avoid a pothole. Look back, reach a hand out, and pull someone up.
It doesn’t matter if you are new or the veteran in the industry, always remain coachable and always be willing to give back. By teaching others, you learn again!
Each one, teach one.

Times will be tough. You will face obstacles and you will want to quit. It happens to everyone at one point or another. It’s ok...you are not alone.
Remember what motivated you to start. Think of WHY you are doing what you do. Think of WHO you are doing it for.
Are you doing it to prove people wrong? Are you doing it for your kids, your family? Are you doing it to make a difference? Without a compelling reason, you will want to quit as soon as it gets tough.

When you win the morning, you are putting on your armor for the day.
.
You are going to have things happen to you that you didn’t plan. That’s life. Everyone has unexpected things that pop up.
.
What’s more important is how you react to and handle those problems.
.
When you get yourself in the right mindset, you handle things differently.
.
Listen to some music that puts a smile on your face. Put on an inspirational video on YouTube.
.
Do what you need to do to feel more confident and strong. Go make today awesome! You only get one of them.
You attract and get back what you put out into the world. Don’t expect to get watermelon when you’re planting apple seeds.

It’s a new week! Expect great things to happen.
-
The choice is yours to think positive thoughts or negative thoughts when you think about this week. Choose to have good thoughts. It doesn’t take any more time but can drastically change how you approach each task.
-
Plan your work day and work week, then work your plan.
-
It’s the small daily decisions that make the biggest difference in the long run.
-
Have a blessed week!
Why I love what I do.

Make today amazing!

If you want to fly, give up everything that holds you down.

It’s hard to run through life carrying so much baggage.
-
Back in 2003 trash collectors went on strike in Chicago and within a short period of time, people were up in arms, outraged by the mess, complaining about the smell and the amount of rats.
.
Apartment buildings and restaurants were asking people to double and triple bag the trash, to keep it inside if possible.
-
So often in life, we are the ones carrying around the bags of trash and then we have the audacity to complain about the rats. Smh! 🤦♂️
-
It’s time to put down the baggage. Forgive those that wronged you. Be at peace with what happened.
-
How long you carry it is up to you but the longer you carry the trash, the heavier it gets.
.
When you decide to put down the bags, you’ll find that the rats will go away and it will smell a whole lot better! ✌️🤟

To set a new bar and accomplish things you have never accomplished before, you HAVE to believe a new bar can be set. You have to believe that IT IS POSSIBLE!
-
You then have to take action and put in the work. If your work ethic does not match your goals, don’t count on achieving them.
-
Lastly, ditch the excuses! Nobody cares about why you weren’t able to accomplish your goals. There are people out there making your “valid” excuses look pathetic. You have to burn the boats and GO ALL IN.
-
If you fail, if you get knocked down, learn from it, get back up better and stronger.
-
What’s going to be your story? Are you going to have a whole bunch of reasons and stories why you weren’t able to achieve your goals or are you going to make it happen despite the obstacles.
-
The choice is up to you.

We all face adversity and we all have things go unaccording to plans.
.
We try so hard to prepare so these things don’t happen but curveballs still get thrown our way. (WTF 😤🤬🤕)
.
The beautiful thing is that we do have a choice in how we respond to it. 🤟🙌💪
.
You can choose to let this affect the rest of your day/week/month/year. How long you suffer is up to you.
.
Challenge yourself to respond in a different way. This choice is powerful and can change everything.
.
We all have bad days and get thrown curveballs. What are you going to do about it?

Happy thanksgiving!!! 🍁🍽🦃

Sales and influence are an emotional game.
😃🥰🤨😒🙁😤🤬😢😭
-
People buy based on emotion first, then support the purchase logically. 😃 > 🤔
-
Studies show that 7% of how your message is received is through the words you say, 38% is based on your tone of voice, your pace, your delivery, and 55% is based on your body language.
-
You have to understand people and listen to not only the words they are saying, but how they say it. Pay attention to their body language when they say it, their eye contact. 👁
-
Increase your communication ability to have more impact. Choose your words wisely and more importantly, how you say them. This affects how it makes them feel and that’s what people buy.
-
Your relationships will improve. Your influence will improve. Your sales will improve. 👥 🎯 💵

If you don’t believe in yourself, why should anyone else believe in you?
-
You must believe in yourself and what you do, even if no one else does.
-
The first person to sell when you are a salesperson is yourself.
-
Have faith, stand tall, and be confident!
-
It’s amazing how a simple compliment can have ripple effects that reach so far.
-
I recently heard a quote that said “don’t let compliments stay in your mind. If you do, they are just thoughts without power.”
-
Maybe we can use this as a reminder to share positivity and kind words more often. Pass it on!
-
Thanks

Are you putting in the time?
.
Does your work ethic match your goals?
.
If you want to be extraordinary, you have to do the EXTRA little things. If you want to be the expert, you have to put in the time.
.
There is a gap between where you are now and where you want to be. The gap is filled with knowledge and experience.
.
If you want to close the gap, get a coach that knows how to do it who can help guide you in the right direction.
.
Put in more time, study more, spend more time with those that have done what you want to do.
.
This is why I wake up early. I get quiet time to work on me, my mindset, my goals, etc.
.
Once you start getting momentum and seeing progress, it becomes even more fun and you want to put in more time. Enjoy the process!
.

I have never been the most talented in anything I have done. I have always started out struggling, whether that was in sports or sales.
The thing that I had in my favor was my work ethic. I was willing to work harder than my teammates and coworkers so I would steadily get better and rise to be one of the better players and salespeople.
You may be more talented but if you don’t hustle day in and day out, I’m coming for you. If I’m not, someone else is.
It’s a competitive market. You have to continually improve on your strengths and weaknesses so you can close more sales, get a higher ASP, get more 5 star reviews, more referrals, provide better service, get a promotion, etc.
It’s a constant pursuit to be your best self. That’s the fun of life. You never know what you can achieve until you try. Let’s get after it!
What do you do to keep getting better???

They say your attitude for the day is set in the first 20 minutes of every day.
When you wake up, tell yourself that today is going to be a great day.
Your inner world, your self talk, greatly affects your outer world so choose your words wisely.
Have a blessed day!

Sunday is the best day to get your mind right and get prepared for a great week.
Write down your to-do list, prioritize it, and put it in your planner.
This helps you wake up with clarity and focus so you can be effective and get 💩 done.

Thank you to all of the past, present, and future Veterans and family members for all of your sacrifice, bravery, and dedication. You have provided us the freedom and safety we so often take for granted. 🙏🏼 🇺🇸

Most of what we want to accomplish in life doesn’t come with a promise - when it will happen, how it will happen, or if it will happen at all.
Because of this, most people won’t put in the work. They don’t have faith and can’t see it clearly enough.
This is why it’s so important to have a clear vision of what you want to happen. Write down your goals and look at them daily.
Have an honest conversation of where you are currently so you have a starting point and a clear end goal so you can design a 🗺 of how to get there.
Then, work diligently and have faith.
According to Merriam-Webster, faith is firm belief in something for which there is no proof.
Even though you don’t have a promise that it will work out when or how you wanted, have faith and put in the work.
The one thing I can promise you...not putting in the work most definitely won’t get you there.
Have a blessed day!
Now let’s get to work.
Fear, what you think is possible, what you believe you are capable of achieving is self-imposed.
.
I heard someone once say we generally overestimate what we can do in a year but grossly underestimate what we can accomplish in a decade.
.
Cross the line, get outside of your comfort zone and do something you previously thought was impossible.
.
It may be scary but on the other side of fear is freedom.
.
🐜 🎯

Energy flows where attention goes.
.
Be careful of what you give your attention to.
.
This is one thing you must challenge yourself to improve because it will be present for the rest of your life-managing your thoughts.
.
Your thoughts create a feeling which changes what action you take therefore changing the results.
.
You have the option to decide what meaning something has and how long you want to entertain this thought. It’s up to you!
.
Sometimes just thinking differently about something can change everything.
.
Instead of complaining about something, look at it as a challenge, or an opportunity.
.
“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” - Wayne Dier
