Our rainbow unit calls for a rainbow sensory bin full of painted chickpeas.
The students had fun squishing, pounding, shaking and pinching the baggies.
Sensory, indeed.
My oh my what a day we had!
Miss Meaghan brought sugar cookies, 3 colors of frosting and sprinkles, and each student got to decorate and eat their own creation.
We got a visit from Ada County Sheriff Jeremy who brought lollipops and Jr. Deputy sticker Badges and showed us the lights and sirens on his special car.
Then we got a surprise visit from a Little black lab puppy named Ash. There were giggles and smiles all around.
We passed out and received TONS of Valentines, and then played outside.
Then we donned our balloon heart-hats, grabbed our goodie bags, and called it a day!
Whew! What a whirlwind!
Here are the only pictures I got...

Pumpkin goo!
The Halloween party is one of my favorite days!
This year didn’t disappoint.
Costumes ✅
Smoking apple cider (think witch’s cauldron)
This is a fave, cause they’ve never seen dry ice before. It’s so fun! They think it’s hot because it’s bubbling and ‘steaming’. I love to show them that you can blow on it, and dissipate the smoke, momentarily. Some of them were afraid to drink it. 😂😂
Donuts ✅
Party games ✅
Fancy snacks ✅
Pulling out pumpkin guts ✅
Foaming blue goo, gushing out, volcano-like from just-carved pumpkin face ✅
Decorating a bag to collect candy ✅
Trick or treating with our friends ✅
Watching Room on the Broom after having read it every single day in October ✅
While eating popcorn ✅
Two very happy teachers ✅
Best. Day. Ever. ✅✅
Today was our annual field trip to the Farmstead!
We took a wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch, and picked cute little pumpkins, took a ride on the cow train, ate sack lunches, jumped forever on the jumping pillow, played on the ninja warrior course, went down the giant slide and finished it all off with half an hour in the corn beach. Whew! What a day!
I love my job!
Here at Montessori Learning Farm, we have been learning all about apples!!
To end the unit, we made these darling apple spinners.
This week, we’ve been learning about apples.
Today, we did some science.
Each student got to vote whether they thought an Apple would sink or float.
Then…
WE TESTED IT!
I love watching their amazed faces.
I love my job. 💕💕💕

As many of you know, The Learning Farm Preschool is transitioning to the Montessori method in the fall.
My husband, Chris is finishing up his certification and we’ll be teaching together!
This is a dream come true after 5 years of hard work, planning and certification! And we couldn’t be happier!
If you are looking for an amazing preschool, look no further.
Enroll now. Class size is limited and is filling up fast. (I enrolled 4 students just last week)
(Image is not our classroom. But ours will be something similar)
This doesn’t mean we don’t work towards teaching children manners or boundaries, but know there’s a reason they can struggle with this
Looks like we’re doin pretty good!
Children who begin kindergarten with a solid foundation and knowledge base will have a much easier time adjusting. They don’t have to know everything, but knowing these 10 Important Things will help them make an easy transition.

Something exciting is happening at preschool this month!
We’ve got caterpillars!
These guys have grown to more than 5 times their size since they arrived 5 days ago.
Soon they’ll build their chrysalis, then we’ll get to watch them hatch, and eventually let them go outside.
Stay tuned for future developments.
