NEW data about popularity of yoga in America. The last stats came out in 2012. Wow, we thought yoga was becoming more popular but we now know that it's "off the charts" popular. Why do people continue to practice - because it produces positive changes in the body, mind and spirit. Begin your practice today! Highlights of the new study include:
1. 36.7% Americans practice yoga (up from 20.4% million in 2012)
2. Americans are spending on what they love. 16 billion spent on yoga classes, gear and accessories. (up from 10B)
3. Top reasons to begin yoga include increase flexibiity, reduce stress and overall fitness.
4. Yoga students are more likely than the general population to give back to community, eat sustainably, and stay moving (lift weights, run, cycle..)
5. 34% of Americans said they are very likely to begin a yoga practice in the next 12 months (that's 80 million people!)
