Insightful meeting on COVID-19 in the Construction Industry presented by both Aaron Cox (Safety & Health Consultant with WCF Insurance) and Dan Stephens (VP Multi-State Claims with WCF Insurance). Although following safety protocols limited the number we could have in attendance, we had a great turnout. We appreciate WCF's willingness to support our organization on such an important topic by volunteering their time and valuable information. https://www.wcf.com/idaho-agents

This message has been delayed because we’re aware that all of you have had much higher priorities than our local Chapter quarterly luncheons could ever be. Hopefully by now, you & your companies have settled somewhat into a routine and this is not too much of a disruption. We know that this is an extremely challenging time for all of you. Don’t worry about us right now. We’ll be back full strength as soon as we are able to get together as a group. In the meantime, here are a few items to give you an update of where we are, our future plans, and what CFMA resources you have at your fingertips to help during these demanding moments.

1. First and foremost, if you’re not already aware, CFMA will provide a 60-day grace period for membership renewals. Members will have until May 31, 2020 to renew their membership before benefits are suspended. Please take advantage of this and please do renew on or before May 31st. Don't let that date slip by, because we all are going need some social interaction when this all settles and we want to get a sense of normality. We will all need each other more than ever to share & hear stories. It is from fellow members’ experiences that we learn and grow the most.

2. Our plan:
• Our April 23rd scheduled Chapter luncheon has obviously been postponed.
• We have tentatively reserved Thursday, June 11th, for our next meeting.
• We will reach out to you on or before May 11th to confirm, to the best of our knowledge, if we're still scheduled for June 11th or if we have to postpone longer.
• In the meantime, if there are any specific topics you want covered, please let us know (i.e., How to calculate, maximize, and submit the PPP loan forgiveness amount?)

3. Resources:
• CFMA has been and will continue to provide resources related to situations created by COVID-19. Be sure to check out their page for other resources and webinars: https://cafe.cfma.org/covid-19-resources
• AGC has been working hard on advocacy for the construction industry. Please check out their resource page as well: https://www.agc.org/coronavirus
• CFMA Upcoming Events page: https://cfma.digitellinc.com/cfma/pages/upcoming-events. Especially watch this page as content is continuously being added.
• Visit CFMA for updates as they become available (www.CFMA.org).
• Visit our Chapter’s webpage for updates as they become available (https://cafe.cfma.org/idaho/home).

4. Last, but not least, I think Stuart from CFMA said it best with this message he shared. Stuart, by the way, has taken the time to visit our Chapter in person, during one of our Chapter events. He has said numerous times that he really enjoyed coming to Idaho, meeting our members, and watching us shoot those clay pigeons out of the air.

As Chairman Michelle Eastman often talks about, we are going through Destination Unknown; but, with the knowledge, resources, relationships, and skills we have and share with each other, our strength in numbers will provide the support needed to make decisions and adapt to this fast-moving threat. Thank you and stay safe!

Sincerely,
Stuart Binstock
