Teachers, we need mentors for our Idaho Science and Aerospace Scholars (ISAS) program! We are searching for certified Idaho science, technology, engineering, or mathematics teachers to serve as Teacher Mentors during each of two summer academies. Teachers selected to participate will receive a $2,000 stipend and travel reimbursement if applicable. Find more info and apply by February 25th here: https://www.sde.idaho.gov/academic/isas/

ISAS is a competitive program that allows high school juniors to take an engaging online NASA-developed course on Space Exploration through Idaho Digital Learning Alliance that teaches a broad range of STEM skills!

The ISAS Summer Academy is offered to select students who will be exposed to STEM mentors and master educators over the course of a week-long STEM-based experience. In teams, they will undertake a simulated human mission to Mars and will be immersed in hands-on STEM activities.

The first summer academy runs July 10 - 16, 2022, and the second runs from July 24 - July 30. Please note on your application if you have a preference or conflict with any academy week. A current resume must be submitted with your application.

We are proud to partner with Discovery Center of Idaho, Idaho State University, University of Idaho, Boise State University, Idaho Digital Learning, Idaho National Laboratory, Micron, and HP to provide ISAS to Idaho high school juniors!

Pictured is a Brown Shyshark which is a combination of a catfish and a small shark - also known as a catshark. It belongs to the #Scyliorhinidae family. 🦈 This species of shark is special because it has a curious response to threats... it curls into a ring and puts it's tail over it's eyes, lending itself to the name "shyshark". This defense mechanism protects their eyes and makes them more awkward for a predator to eat whole. 🤯
