Boise Music Lessons updated their information in their About section.
Why is Wordle so dang popular? Because it's a simple, shared, social experience!
Yes, you *could* play other word games whenever you want, but will you? Probably not with the same dedication and enthusiasm you bring to your daily Wordle puzzle!
The same idea applies to playing music! You *could* watch unlimited lessons on YouTube and practice an abundance of techniques every day, but will you? The options are simply overwhelming!
In our studio we learn ONE song at a time, and we learn it together! Regardless of instrument, ability, or age, we teach all of our students to play music through a shared popular song.
Just like Wordle, there are many different avenues to produce the same outcome, and the joy is in sharing the journey with your friends. This is why we tailor our musical instruction to each individual player, and incorporate group classes for a celebratory community experience!
Are you ready for a simple, fun, and social musical outlet? Snag your spot in the Campfire Music Club starting February 27th, or join the wait-list for a Lesson Membership starting in August. We can't wait to share some music with you! 🥳
🔥 A new addition to the Community Classroom...
What a difference a year makes!
tl;dr: We wouldn't have made it without you!
On this very day last December, we were awarded a grant that kick-started our idea to redesign our music lessons studio and build an outdoor classroom to safely host groups. Over the holidays we dove headfirst into researching possibilities and permits; by the end of the year we'd ordered the frame for the classroom and started renovating our unfinished garage to teach one-on-one lessons.
In January we bid farewell to our tiny lessons greenhouse and moved into our new open-air studio. Throughout the spring we hosted group jams online and at local parks as we worked to coordinate construction on the outdoor classroom. Easement constraints, supply chain issues, and the contractor shortage made for quite the string of challenges, but we powered through with the help of our community.
In April we launched a crowdfunding campaign to build our outdoor Community Classroom, and broke ground precisely two weeks later. It was quite the undertaking to remove a concrete patio, transplant a small orchard of fruit trees, level all the garden beds (sorry Marcus!), and dig out the "jamphitheater" for the campfire. Thanks to the amazing work of SplitPea Edible Landscaping, the backyard was back to looking green and inviting in no time.
At the end of May the crowdfunding campaign closed with an unbelievable $22k in community support. There are no words for how grateful we are to all who donated, shared, and trusted us to build a safe and vibrant musical space. We are also so thankful for the guidance of Crowdfund Better and Crowdfund Idaho for helping us through the process.
In June we poured the foundation and assembled the frame for the classroom (thanks to Wright Brother Construction!). In July we added two walls and space for storing firewood (thanks to DeQuaid construction!). In August we finally broke in the Community Classroom with an inaugural hootenanny, and we enjoyed making music in our outdoor oasis throughout the fall. Things finally came full circle this winter when we installed greenhouse walls and a wood stove for our campfire classes.
Looking back, so much transformation in exactly 365 days seems impossible, but here we are! And there is no doubt that we owe it to each and every one of you who supported us throughout this process. We promise to keep playing music and making you proud! 💚💚
