After you were so helpful and encouraging, I could ask another and then another. Thank you so much for helping me find my voice and courage to be a leader"

Sharing a photo of our instructor Ms. Holly Wood back in the '90s when she was studying abroad in Africa!

"I spent my senior year of High school in Middelburg South Africa. It is 90 miles east of Johannesburg. I wore a uniform to school and had prayer and scripture read everyday. Had bible class, there was no cafeteria at school. We didn’t have lockers. We had to carry our books everywhere with us. There wasn’t a school bus. We rode city transit bus to school if our parents didn’t take us. We had students who lived on campus and stayed Monday through Friday there," said Ms. Wood.

"When working at home, I find it beneficial to have my own quiet space to concentrate. I stay organized by getting up early, planning my day, and checking things off my list as I complete them.

My advice for students all learning from home right now is to ask questions as soon as they come up, reach out to your teachers when you need help, and make a schedule and stick to it. Also, try the 45/15 method (study for 45 minutes then take a 15-minute break and do something that requires getting up out of the chair). You can do this!" - Ms. Tomkinson, iSucceed teacher #ThursdayThoughts #thursdayteachertips #teachertips

"Hi, students! My name is Mrs. Nelson. I love working in my flower beds and vegetable garden, side-by-side riding with my husband, water-color painting and reading historical fiction.

I love how many students I get to meet through online teaching. I also love seeing how students utilize technology to create such unique projects.

Earning your diploma from home can be a challenge. One challenge I faced early on as a teacher working from home was finding a balance between my work and personal life. When you are at home, it can be easy for those things to overlap, but I was able to separate my time by treating work hours just as I would if I were working outside of the home. Building a fun office space also helped keep me motivated, comfortable and focused.

Create a routine. If you can get into a groove that works for you and your schedule, you’ll find it easier to meet your academic goals and expectations."

Thanks to Mrs. Nelson for taking the time to let us "spotlight" her on social media. ☺️ #thankyouteachers

Students and Parents: Comment if Ms. Tomkinson is your teacher! Love the post if she's a favorite teacher of yours. She's certainly a favorite of ours, so we will be clicking "love" shortly! 😍

Ms. Tomkinson is in Nampa, and loves running, reading, trying out new recipes and being outdoors. She is a big believer in college, and has helped many of our students in the process of getting there!

"I love being a part of iSucceed and have found that the staff, teachers and administrators are all engaged in helping each student achieve their full potential," said Ms. Tomkinson. "The collaboration among colleagues is a great asset and I feel privileged to be a part of it."

70% of students have witnessed bullying in some form. The question is, how many did something about it?

"Knowing what's right doesn't mean much unless you do what's right," President Theodore Roosevelt.

There is nothing more important than a teen's health and well-being. Learning will not happen if the student does not feel safe or cared about. Providing a safe space for our students to connect with friends and learn is so critical to us, and we hope to continue to help students find a quality education from the comfort of their homes.
