If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what do humanitarians eat? How about Unitarians; do they eat ones? What about vegans, or is it Vegans? Do they eat just vegetables or do they come from the heavenly body, Vega?

If you have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one, is it an odd or an end?

One goose, two geese. So, one moose, two meese? One caboose, two cabeese? Is cheese the plural of choose? Is fleece the plural of flooce? Why isn’t cheese pronounced like geese instead of wheeze? Please tell me!

If, plural, singular, then lice, louse and mice, mouse? Therefore, dice, douse? No; it’s dice: die! What about spice, spouse?

Conversely, if singular, plural, then mouse, mice. Therefore, s***e, sice? House, hice? Grouse, grice? What about spouse, spice?

You have to marvel at the craziness of a language in which your alarm goes off by going on. You watch your house burn up as it burns down, and then you fill out the insurance form by filling it in. You get reimbursed by cashing out or cashing in.

Is it possible that some people have noses that run and feet that smell?

A fat chance and a slim chance are about the same but a wise man and a wise guy are not.
