Hey dad, can you afford to miss the incarnation this Christmas?

Ok, so what is this incarnation I’m not supposed to miss? A simple definition for incarnation is “to take on flesh.” For Christianity, the incarnation is a foundational belief that the Son of God, Jesus, took on human form and nature and dwelt among men. The Bible writers said of Jesus, “they will call His name Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us’” (Matthew 1:23).
But life is busy, and the Christmas season even busier! Working, paying the bills, fixing the car, helping the kids with homework, shopping, playing with the kids, and oh yeah…spending time with the mother of our children. I can’t afford to take time to think about the incarnation!

Let me offer just two of many reasons why you don’t want to miss the incarnation: 1) through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus we have, through faith in Him, the gift of eternal life; 2) through the incarnation we come to know the depths of God’s love.
A living hope through faith in Jesus is the greatest gift we can share with our families this Christmas. But we can’t give what we don’t have.

Dad, you can’t afford NOT to take time to think about the incarnation this Christmas season!
