It might be worth stating that if Bloomington’s governmental offices doesn’t get a sizable warming shelter up soon, there will be several more unsheltered individuals dead from exposure by the end of next week.
A group of young leaders representing Myanmar (Burma) will be in Bloomington April 5th-20th for programming at IU, and we are looking for host families. This is the perfect opportunity to support local leadership, both here and afar!
The IU Office of International Development is hosting a group of students from Myanmar for the Youth Leadership Program, April 5th-20th, and is looking for host families. Becoming a host family is a great opportunity to learn about another culture while sharing the experience of someone learning about ours. If you are interested, PM me or use the e-mail address in the flier.
Here's an event that's sure to be of interest to LBMC alumni (and is being produced by two LBMC alums).

Isabel Perry, Ph.D. from the LBMC Class of 2019 shares her experience with how her scholarship assisted her in completing the program:

"Being retired with many valuable years ahead of me to give back, I decided having ‘seniors’ participate in this program is essential. We offer wisdom, free-time, etc., elements that others do not bring to the table. However, ‘seniors’ do not have the ‘sponsorship’ provided by corporations, government agencies, etc. So, I decided to apply and was graciously offered a partial scholarship."

LifeDesigns

This summer the LBMC Alumni Association Board decided they wanted to help give back to our community as so many of us were experiencing hardships (and continue to) due to COVID-19. Our solution was to start a mini grant program this year to help some of the wonderful organizations in our community that do so much to help others in need.
We're happy to feature one of our grant winners today, LifeDesigns! They help support over 350 people with a variety of disabilities throughout 8 surrounding counties. The small grant they received from us will help them provide PPE for their customers and employees.
