It might be worth stating that if Bloomington’s governmental offices doesn’t get a sizable warming shelter up soon, there will be several more unsheltered individuals dead from exposure by the end of next week.

A group of young leaders representing Myanmar (Burma) will be in Bloomington April 5th-20th for programming at IU, and we are looking for host families. This is the perfect opportunity to support local leadership, both here and afar!
The IU Office of International Development is hosting a group of students from Myanmar for the Youth Leadership Program, April 5th-20th, and is looking for host families. Becoming a host family is a great opportunity to learn about another culture while sharing the experience of someone learning about ours. If you are interested, PM me or use the e-mail address in the flier.
Here's an event that's sure to be of interest to LBMC alumni (and is being produced by two LBMC alums).

TEDxBloomington is returning on August 24th at 6:30PM for an engaging evening at the Buskirk Chumley. The theme for this year is "Grow" and our six speakers will be taking a unique look at the topic of growth from a variety of perspectives.

• Brian Richardson (Founder of the Krimson Leadership Academy)
• Santi Garces (City of South Bend)
• Michele Mattoon (National School Reform Faculty)
• Lizzy Bartelt (IU Bisexual Research Collaborative on Health)
• Brian Janosch (Comedic Genius)

Once again, TEDxBloomingont is delighted to welcome Sarah “Intellagirl” Smith-Robbins, Director of Learning Technologies at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, back as the event's emcee.

Also appearing on this year’s TEDxBloomington stage are musical performers Opal Fly and KAPOW! Joining forces in 2013, Opal Fly and KAPOW! have been playing shows and gaining new fans all across the midwest. The Bloomington, IN based quartet released their second album, "Abundance", in 2017.

Tickets are on sale now at the Buskirk Chumley Theater Box Office and online at: https://bctboxoffice.org/event/tedxbloomington-grow/

Isabel Perry, Ph.D. from the LBMC Class of 2019 shares her experience with how her scholarship assisted her in completing the program:

"Being retired with many valuable years ahead of me to give back, I decided having ‘seniors’ participate in this program is essential. We offer wisdom, free-time, etc., elements that others do not bring to the table. However, ‘seniors’ do not have the ‘sponsorship’ provided by corporations, government agencies, etc. So, I decided to apply and was graciously offered a partial scholarship."
