We want you to meet and congratulate Thomas, who earned his Indiana High School Equivalency Diploma this year! He was a student in our program for only 5 weeks, including our High School Equivalency Bootcamp. He's moving ahead now with a training course to become a welder. Great job, Thomas! We're proud of you!

Did you know that the average posted wage in Indiana for welders is just over $15 per hour? Anyway, like Thomas, you can #moveaheadwithadulted. We're taking registrations right now on our website for high school equivalency classes, adult high school diploma classes, and English Language Learning classes that start in August. Go to www.mccsc.edu/adulted and get started on a bright future!

MCCSC Adult Education has another upcoming opportunity for adults who are seeking better jobs in 2021: a short-term training course in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. HVAC is a high-wage, in-demand occupation in Indiana!

In the HVAC training, students can attend either in-person or online through Zoom. Those who complete the training and earn their certifications will receive a free set of tools (about $1,700 worth) that many employers require their technicians to supply themselves!
Interested persons should contact their local WorkOne offices to see if they’re qualified to receive these trainings free of charge. A good contact is Kimi Bing, career advisor at the WorkOne office in Bloomington, who can direct them. (812) 335-6717 or [email protected].

An information and registration flyer is available at www.mccsc.edu/adulted under "Certifications."
Please share with those in your circles who could use this important information. It can change their lives!

Purdue Center for Regional Development has a new certificate program for Remote Work for adult learners in the state of Indiana.

Trends indicate that remote work will continue to some degree post-COVID, becoming a competitive advantage for workers that have obtained these skills.

The Remote Work Certificate course equips employees with the tools and skills needed to work remotely for a business – at a low cost ($199) and without a large time commitment.

For more information, see the flyer I attached or contact:

If you know someone who left high school recently or a while back before graduating, MCCSC Adult Education is offering four options to help them qualify for higher-wage, in-demand occupations:

1. High School Equivalency classes, which meet mornings, afternoons, or evenings. Online and in-person classes are available.
2. High School Equivalency Bootcamp, which we do over a three-day period for those who qualify with a pre-test of their skills.
3. Adult High School Diploma, which offers folks who have 6 credits or fewer to complete the opportunity to graduate from the high school they left.
4. A great learn-while-you-earn opportunity with Printpack. You work for the company for 28 hours per week making a fantastic starting wage and study for the high school equivalency tests for the rest of week. When you pass the tests, you move to full-time employment.

Below is some information about these upcoming opportunities. Please share with students, former students, customers, clients, recruits, employees, co-workers, family members, friends, neighbors, and whoever else you know who needs to just get this done!
