A recap of the UPWARD sports season we had this year.....
1.) over 300 participants in football, basketball and cheerleading,
2.) Approx. 26 coaches, close to 100 volunteers (many behind the scenes and in the shadows),
3.) gave out over 50 scholarships to families,
4.) gave $1000.00 in the form of 2 $500.00 donations for 2 great and worthy causes,
5.) the kids and the families of the program raised over $1500.00 in donations for said worthy causes...(yes, that's over $2500.00 we raised and donated as a program!!!!!!!!!),
6.) Conducted 2 successful fundraisers that allowed us to afford above mentioned scholarships, end of the season banquets and over 300 trophies,
7.) countless hours of planning, reffing, scheduling, paperwork, team building, organizing, concession stand orders, grocery trips (Sarah Ross) , and too many other things......
8.) bought and installed a new water fountain for the church and the kids of the Upward program,
9.) some tears, many frustrations, some heartache and some tired feet,
10.) and probably more stuff but this is all I can think of right now....
AND IF WE WERE ABLE TO OPEN ONE CHILD'S HEART OR ONE FAMILIES HEART TO THE WORD OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR I WILL SIGN UP AND DO IT ALL AGAIN TOMORROW!!!!!!
A HUGE THANKS TO ALL THOSE PEOPLE THAT MADE THIS SEASON THE BEST ONE EVER!!!!! ITS START WITH HIM!!
